Idols are available as either magic or rare items and cannot be modified. Each modifier is roughly two to three times more powerful than a similar Atlas tree node. However, not all stats reflect this exactly; for instance, having a 100% chance for Strongboxes to be re-openable would mean opening the same Strongbox repeatedly, so some stats are more conservative. Conversely, others are higher, such as more Ritual rerolls and even reducing the cost of rerolls to zero. It is somewhat challenging to directly compare the power difference between this system and the Atlas Tree, but with a fully optimized set of Idols, you could achieve over three times the variety or strength of content.
