A Magicka Warden PvP Build for ESO Update 40

In The Elder Scrolls Online, Wardens are excellent healers and tanks but only decent damage dealers. However, if you're looking to play PvP content as a Warden, having a strong build is crucial. In this guide, Sekaar shares their top Magicka Warden PvP build, which offers a lot of tankiness and deals significant damage at the same time.

Maximum Magicka: 19146

Maximum Health: 33611

Maximum Stamina: 15393

 

Magicka Recovery: 1410

Health Recovery: 69

Stamina Recovery: 1090

 

Spell Damage: 3517

Spell Critical: 15.4%

Spell Penetration: 6491

 

Weapon Damage: 3804

Weapon Critical 15.4%

Physical Penetration 6491

 

Spell Resistance: 24869

Critical Resistance: 1574

Physical Resistance: 20381

 

Race: Breton is the best choice as they have the ability to reduce the Magicka cost of your skills. Kajiit, Dark Elf, or races that give resources back are good alternatives.

 

Attributes: 4 points into Magicka and 60 points into Health.

 

Mundus Stone: The Warrior can increase your Weapon Damage.

 

Food: Jewels of Misrule increases Stamina and Magicka Recovery and Max Health.

 

Potions: The Essence of Health (aka. Tri-Stat Potion) increases your overall resources.

 

Vampire Stage: Vampire Stage 3. You will activate the Undeath passive while at Vampire Stage 3 or higher. The passive increases your tankiness, and the less Health you have, the less damage you take.

 

Gear Setup

 

 

Draugrkin's Grip can increase your damage done by 330.

 

The Wretched Vitality set is highly beneficial for recovering your resources: When you apply a Major buff or debuff to a target in combat, the set rewards you with 260 Magicka and Stamina Recovery. Similarly, when you apply a Minor buff or debuff to a target in combat, 130 Magicka and Stamina Recovery is granted to you.

 

Valkyn Skoria gives you extra Offensive Penetration.

 

Death Dealer's Fete grants about 2.8K extra Magicka, Stamina, and Health when you get 30 stacks of Escalating Fete in combat. 

 

The Concentrated Force helps increase your overall damage output significantly. Every second cast of Force Shock will always apply the Burning, Concussion, and Chilled status effects to enemies. The Force Shock casts must be made within 5 seconds of each other for this effect to occur. It will be better if you have the perfected version of this set.

 

Skill Setup

 

Front Bar

Force Pulse is your main spammable skill. With this skill, you can focus all the elemental energies with your staff and blast an enemy with Flame Damage, Frost Damage, and Shock Damage. Most importantly, the other enemies will also be affected if they have a status effect on them.

 

Bird of Prey grants multiple types of effect. First, it is your source of Major Expedition, which increases your Movement Speed by 30%. Second, it grants you immunity to snares and immobilizations. Third, the skill, while slotted, grants Minor Berserk, increasing your damage done by 5%.

 

Blue Betty calls a betty netch to your side, which restores Magicka and grants Major Brutality and Sorcery, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 20%. Also, every 5 seconds, the skill removes one negative effect from you.

 

Deep Fissure is your burst damage. It applies Major and Minor Breach to your enemy, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance.

 

Fetcher Infection deals DoT and increases your enemy's damage taken by 5%.

 

Dawnbreaker of Smiting (Ultimate) is a powerful Ultimate and stuns enemies.

 

Back Bar

Polar Wind grants you burst-heal and HoT, helping you regain full Health.

 

Lotus Blossom is your source of Major Prophecy and Savagery, increasing your Weapon and Spell Critical by 2,600. Don’t forget to light attack on this, as every time you light attack, you're going to restore about 1,800 Health.

 

Resolving Vigor is a crucial skill that should be active at all times. This skill provides an HoT effect, helping you to restore your Health to full. In addition, it also provides Minor Resolve, which boosts your Physical and Spell Resistance.

 

Leeching Vines is an HoT to combo with Resolving Vigor. The skill applies Minor Lifesteal to enemies and heals you significantly. So, it's important to keep Leeching Vines active at all times.

 

Ice Fortress provides Major Resolve, increasing your Physical and Spell Resistance. It also offers Minor Protection, which reduces your damage taken by 5% for 30 seconds. Most importantly, this skill will proc both conditions of your Wretched Vitality as well. 

 

Northern Storm (Ultimate) puts a solid amount of AoE pressure on the enemies. On top of that, the skill provides Major Protection, reducing the damage taken of you and your allies by 10%.
