In the ever-evolving world of Path of Exile 2, currency farming remains a cornerstone of success for any aspiring exile. Among the myriad of valuable currencies, Divine Orbs stands out as a highly sought-after resource, essential for enhancing your gear and maximizing your character's potential. As one of the methods to farm Divine Orbs, Trial of the Sekhemas is a lucrative one. But how to do that? Luckily, RageGamingVideos shared a guide on their YouTube channel, providing us with the strategies and tips needed to efficiently amass this precious currency in Trial of the Sekhemas. Let's get into it.

About Trial of the Sekhemas

The Trial of the Sekhemas is one of the Ascendancy Trials in Path of Exile 2. This is a place that has a pinnacle boss on the fourth level, where you can get your fourth Ascendancy points. The trial has a lot of value, like the relic drops that you can sell for good Exalts or maybe even Divines or jewels for potential big wins. When you're running the level 80 version, there's also the potential for high-value drops you might sell. So, it's proven to be a reliable option if you are strong enough to run it and have a good understanding of what the options are and what you should be looking for.

Blink

Blink is a Spirit Gem that replaces your dodge roll with a short-cooldown spell that allows you to tunnel through space, instantly reappearing a medium distance away. It is fantastic in the trial because it allows you to take jumps over chasms where you can't pass. During the Escape trials, where you deal with the crystals, you can bypass all sections of that trial using it. In the Puzzle areas, it helps you skip the walls, mechanics from the puzzles, and traps. So, Blink, in general, is handy for getting around and speeding up your efficiency in the trials. It requires level 14 or higher, and you need to be level 58 and need 133 intelligence to equip it.

Relic

Let's look at the Relics you should be using to maximize your profit. The number one goal is to find relics that have honor resistance. What we want is to reach the roughly 75% honor resistance cap. That is an assumed cap because our resistance is capped at 75% for everything else, so we assume the honor resistance is the same. It will massively increase the amount of honor you have because when you get hit, you lose a lot less honor. So, we see 75% honor resistance as the bare minimum to function in this trial.

For maximum profit, the next important thing is the affix that lets you see an additional room without actually having the boon. This means you could tank the negative affix.

After that, the third priority is that the merchant has additional choices, which means you're going to be offered more boons when you find the merchant, and thus, you will be more likely to choose the best boons. It is also nice to have a relic or multiple relics that reduce the merchant prices, which effectively means all your Sacred Water is worth more.

Then, there are two kinds you can consider: gain Sacred Water when you complete a room and the percent chance for monsters to drop double Sacred Water. This is RNG and a small percentage, so the more you have of this, the better, but it's hard to fit in. Between the two of them, gaining Sacred Water every time you complete a room and stacking up over the course of a run is the more reliable option. Having at least one or both would be helpful for profit.

You can also get increased movement speed or increased maximum honor to improve your success rate or the speed at which you do it. There are affixes that make monsters and bosses take more damage, or you take less damage from them. These are also nice.

When you're putting these relics in the Relic Altar, you will have locked slots the first time you look at it. By completing the trial multiple times, you will unlock those slots. So, what kind of relics should you be picking up and ignoring? Well, ignore those massive ones with four slots, whether long horizontal or long vertical, and go for the ones with two slots, whether horizontal or vertical. These have good potential on them.

Area Level

One thing worth mentioning is the actual coins themselves.

 Area Level

This one is area level 80. You need to make sure there are four trials to have the pinnacle boss, but the area level matters. Only the first floor will be the area level; then the next floor will be one above that, and so on. So, in this case, the first level is 80; the next trial is the next level – 81; the next level is 82; and the final floor will be 83. So, when you're killing higher-level enemies, their potential drops are better, and you can get more valuables from them.

Rarity

It was recently tested and covered that the stacking of Increased Rarity of Items Found to silly numbers isn't impactful. At roughly 100% rarity, we can get the main benefits of what we want, so try to aim for that.

When you reach the final room and are about to open all the chests, having higher rarity gear when opening these chests should be beneficial. Because after defeating the Pinnacle boss, there's a room where you might have gained your fourth Ascendancy point. This room also contains a stash. Equip high-rarity gear to maximize your chances. You don't need combat-ready gear at this stage, so prioritizing rarity could yield better rewards, such as Exalts or Divines. While there's no concrete evidence that this strategy guarantees better drops, it's worth trying until proven otherwise.

Leaving and Returning to the Trial

Did you know you can leave the trial and return without ruining your run? This workaround is helpful because the trial lacks a proper merchant or checkpoint system.

To leave mid-run, use a portal to exit and head to town. You'll be taken to the Act Two hub, where you can handle trades, inventory sorting, or respec your build in preparation for the Pinnacle boss. Instead of re-entering through the portal (which might not work), use the Waypoint to return to the Trial of the Sekhemas. You'll be taken back to the opening room. Interact with the Relic Altar, insert the coin, and you'll return to your previous location in the trial.

Profit Boons to Aim For

For maximum profit, prioritize boons that provide the most value:

S-Tier Boons:

    • "More Sacred Water Per Room" Boon: This boon compounds in value the earlier you get it since Sacred Water is essential for trading with merchants and crafting keys for the final room.
    • Boon that grants an extra key upon picking one up: This can leave you with a substantial number of gold keys for opening high-value chests.

A-Tier Boons:

    • Anything to do with the merchant to get you those S-tier Boons is helpful, like being able to get to the merchant right now or sooner, generating a load of Sacred Water to spend on the merchant.
    • Movement speed boons, like Boon: Hare Foot, for faster clearing and avoiding time-freeze mechanics during the Pinnacle boss fight.
    • Boons allowing you to see further on the map to plan profitable routes.

B-Tier Boons:

    • Damage or monster health reduction boons that make the run easier and quicker, though less directly tied to profit.

Trial to Aim for

Some trials are more profitable than others:

  • Best: Chalice trials, which involve killing rares quickly and generating valuable drops, like Exalt or Divine.
  • Good: Hourglass trials for similar reasons.
  • Decent: Ritual, as they are quick to kill Skeleton Summoners but yield fewer rewards.
  • Worst: Escape and Gauntlet trials, which are fast but offer minimal rewards.

Reward Room Chest Priority

After defeating the Pinnacle boss, focus on these chests:

  • Grand Spectrum Chests: Use gold keys to open these for unique Grand Spectrum jewels, which are worth Divines. The sapphire is the most valuable, then Emerald and Ruby.
  • Timeless Chests: Prioritize these over Royal chests, as Royal chests can also appear in silver-key chests.
  • Mysterious Chests: Potentially contain high-value currency like exalts or divines.
  • Arcanist Chests: Contain random currency.

Profitability

Running the Trial of Sekhemas twice an hour can yield 1–2 divines in value, making it a lucrative activity. High-tier items or unique jewels can fetch more divines. Unlike mapping, this requires minimal setup—just a coin to enter. So, that's what it is. These tips should enhance your Sekhemas experience. Hope they help! Happy hunting!
