Diablo 4 Season 1 Preparation and Investment Guide
Preparing for Season 1 in Diablo 4 can give you a head start and help you make the most of the new content. How can you prepare to the best of your ability for Season One? Here we will share some tips on how to prepare for Season 1.
Complete the Campaign
If you have not completed the campaign, you will not start Season 1. The story for this season takes place after the main campaign, so you might encounter spoilers if you haven't finished it yet. Completing the campaign once on any character will also give you the ability to skip it on all subsequent characters, including Seasonal 1.
If you don't complete the campaign, at least you need to complete the first three acts to unlock the horse. You will start at level 1 with your horse as soon as that horse is unlocked in the Eternal realm. Horse makes everything faster and more efficient.
Select Your Class
Learn about the class-specific mechanics, abilities, and builds. Choose the class you want to play during the season. Each class in Diablo 4 offers unique abilities and playstyles, so pick one that suits your preferred gameplay style and goals.
Familiarize yourself with the strengths and weaknesses of your chosen class to optimize your gameplay during the season.
Discover Altars of Lilith
Perks will carry over to Season 1. Altars of Lilith are special shrines that grant you bonuses such as attributes, Murmuring Obols (a new currency), and Paragon Points (a new endgame progression system). There are 160 Altars of Lilith to find in total, and each one gives you 10 Renown. The perks you unlock at the Altars of Lilith are account-wide, so they will apply to your seasonal characters as well.
You need to collect every single Altar of Lilith, which is hidden throughout the world. You can look these up on a map and type Diablo 4 map in Google. There are various tools that are going to get you a location of every single Altar of Lilith; each one of them gives a discreet small buff. When you get all dozens of them, your character will be added a nice little amount of extra power. This power will transfer to your seasonal character, and you will not have to farm up the Altars of the Lilith again in season. You're also getting the Renown, so you will begin with that amount of Renown in the season.
Gain More Renown
With the recent confirmation that players will have to play new characters to enjoy the season, the Renown grind has become a very hot topic. Aside from the actual leveling, gaining Renown again will be the biggest time investment for a new season.
Renown is a new system that lets you earn additional rewards such as XP, some D4 gold, Paragon Points, Skill Points, and others; it rewards you for exploring Sanctuary and completing various activities. You can use Renown to unlock perks at the Altars of Lilith, which are scattered across the world. Your map progress will carry over to your seasonal characters, so you don't have to uncover it again.
Reveal the Map
Similarly, you want to fully discover the map before the season because all that Fog of War cleared all those areas discovered that transfer to the season, so you will not have to discover the map again.
Before the season starts, what you're going to do is log in with your character that has all this progress done, or multiple characters, so that this can be propagated across your account.
Collect Malignant Hearts
These are the core feature of Season 1. Malignant Hearts are powerful items that drop from Malignant Enemies, which are corrupted versions of normal enemies.
There are four different types of Malignant Hearts found in Season 1, each with its own abilities:
Vicious Heart
Brutal Heart
Devious Heart
Wrathful Heart
Each type of heart can be found in the overworld from Malignant enemies, as well as in Malignant Tunnels, where you can invoke specific types of Malignant to get the type of heart you want. All hearts can also be crafted via Cormond's wagon.
Malignant Hearts come in different colors and rarities, and they can only be used in Season 1.
You can socket Malignant Hearts into your jewelry (amulet and rings) to gain unique effects that can enhance your build or create new synergies.
Theorycraft Build and Farm Gear
Develop a build strategy based on your chosen class, taking into account their strengths and available gear options. Plan your skill tree, synergies, and item requirements in advance.
If possible, collect some low-level gear with valuable affixes or special properties that can be used during the leveling phase. This can give you an early advantage and boost your progress.
Plan Leveling Strategy
Decide on the leveling strategy you'll use to reach the endgame content quickly. Research efficient leveling routes and techniques to maximize your experience gains.
Gather resources - Acquire any necessary resources, such as leveling gear, gems, or crafting materials, to aid in the leveling process. This can include storing Diablo IV items in your stash or transferring them from other characters.
Learn the Season Mechanics
You're going to be starting season 1 with a horse without having to redo the campaign and be able to engage with the season mechanics. Some of which are going to allow you to accumulate more power.
The season mechanic is really fast, it's sort of like Diablo through legendary gems, but with extra steps, there's more involved in farming them. These are going to be power-ups that you can insert into your jewelry sockets to give yourselves even more power. Presumably, you'll be able to start gaging with this right away; if you happen to find some of these at a low level, this could be a nice power buff that's going to make you level up even faster. Of course, Diablo 4 boost service can also allow you to upgrade faster.
I hope this guide helps you get ready for Season 1 in Diablo 4.
