Like many other open-world games, Elden Ring features many incredible secret areas. Not only are they well-designed, but they also include interesting enemy encounters, hidden bosses, and a lot of rare items. They're easy to miss, especially if you play the game for the first time and haven't thoroughly examined Lands Between. But you don't have to worry, and we are here to help you find the best secret areas and show you all the rewards that you can get in those hidden areas. So, we will focus on the top 5 secret areas in no particular order.

Abandoned Cave in Dragonbarrow

The abandoned cave is a hidden area in Caelid. In this cave, you will find several crafting supplies and two rare weapons. Make sure you have some Preserving Boluses ready before entering this cave because it is full of Scarlet Rot. That means that you should be properly equipped before entering this area. If you are looking for special and unique Elden Ring items, buy them simply in our store at any time.

How to Get There

It can be challenging to locate the Abandoned Cave's entrance. From the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace, navigate down the eastern cliff. You'll need to walk across some tree branches to get to the Abandoned Cave's entrance. You should undertake the platforming on foot rather than on top of Torrent and be cautious because there can be some T-rex dogs around.

Rewards

Serpent Bow (an interesting bow found in one of the areas covered in Scarlet Rot)

Venomous Fang (a decent weapon for an extra poison effect that can be found behind a giant poison flower)

The Golden Scarab - The Cleanrot Knights, which you will encounter in this cave, will drop the amazing Golden Scarab. It is excellent for farming because it enhances the quantity of Runes players receive from eliminating enemies. To put it simply, more Runes means more opportunities, and there is no better place to buy Elden Ring runes than in our store.

Inverted Carian Study Hall

The Carian Study Hall is a challenging yet beautiful dungeon located in the Liurnia of the Lakes region, but before you start your journey in this dungeon, you will need a certain item called Carian Inverted Statue. You can obtain this item by finishing the Ranni questline. You can find the complete Ranni Questline guide here.

How to Get There

The Carian Study Hall is located east of the Liurnia of the Lakes region. Probably, the fastest route would be from Eastern Tableland (fast travel). Then simply go south down the road that leads to the tower's entrance. As I mentioned above, you will need to obtain the Carian Inverted Statue first. Then, you will have to solve the Carian Study Hall Pedestal Puzzle. After you place this key item, the study hall will be upside down (Inverted Carian Study Hall).

Rewards

Cerulean Seed Talisman (will boost your Focus Point – FP by 20%)

Carian Glintstone Staff (a decent weapon but only for characters with high Intelligence stat. Here you can find the best Intelligence Build in Elden Ring).

Mask of Confidence (a lightweight helm that increases Arcane)

There are also other fantastic items in another secret area called the Divine Tower of Liurnia. So once the Study Hall is inverted, you must go to the elevator, which is located in the center of the Study Hall. This lift brings you to the bridge. Here you will have to be careful because you will fight a Boss called Godskin Noble. After you defeat him, you will obtain the great Godskin Noble Armor set. Here you can find other rare Armor sets and drops in Elden Ring.

Additionally, on top of the Divine Tower, you will find the Cursemark of Death item. This is a key item in Elden Ring.

The Church Of Dragon Communion

Another noteworthy location is the Church of Dragon Communion. It enables you to exchange Dragon Hearts that you acquire from dragon bosses for great dragon attack incantations.

Elden Ring serect-3

How to Get There

This area is accessible from the beginning of the game. You must pass through the Coastal Cave along the coast southwest of Limgrave in order to get to the Church of Dragon Communion. Inside the cave, you will face two mini-bosses, the Demi-Human Chiefs. After you defeat them, enter the dark corridor behind them, and you will emerge on the island where the Church of Dragon Communion is located. There you will also find the Altar, which is very important.

Rewards

The first thing you need is the Dragon Heart. This is a consumable item used for trading that is dropped from several Dragons in the game. The following Incantations can be traded.

Dragonclaw (This spell summons a massive claw that can smash through hordes and defeat standalone enemies)

Dragonfire (This spell summons a dragon head that breathes out harmful flames)

Dragonmaw (This spell summons a dragon head that bites enemies in the caster's direct line of sight)

Lake of Rot

Elden Ring has several intricate areas, and this is definitely one of them. This vast area is divided into two smaller ones, and as the name implies, everything in this place is covered in rot. Basically, it is just a big lake created entirely of scarlet rot.

How to Get There

This journey should start at the Ainsel River Main Site of Grace. Once there, go to the Uhl Palace Ruins. You should enter this area through the gate that is protected by two imposing statues. Keep going down the river, and you'll eventually arrive in Nokstella, the Eternal City. Continue on the riverside and go past the Site of Grace. There will be several strong enemies in this section, so approach it with caution. A short walk down the river on your left, there will be a staircase that leads to what appears to be a tomb. Use the elevator in that building after climbing those stairs.

Run straight through the only door in the area when you reach the bottom of the elevator shaft. Continue racing through this cramped, enemy-filled section after passing through a tiny tunnel to the southwest. Use the nearby lift, and you will reach your destination, the Lake of Rot.

Rewards

This area is worth visiting, as you will find some great stuff.

Dragonscale Blade (a Katana, acquired by defeating the Boss, Dragonkin Soldier)

Mushroom Crown (a great Helm, taken from a corpse that was hanging off a pillar in the southeast corner of the Lake of Rot)

Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook 22 (Acquire the knowledge to craft the Rot Pot, Rot Grease, and Drawstring Rot Grease)

And many more items like the Aeonian Butterfly, Golden Centipede, Warming Stone, and so on.

Jarburg

Elden Ring is full of dungeons, NPCs, missions, bosses, and special places, and this next area is the one you really should not want to miss, as this is one of Elden Ring's most unique places. Jarburg is just a funny, adorable little hidden place. You might as well take a moment to enjoy it as it's one of the few areas in this chaotic Elden Ring world where anyone is living in peace. That's right, this is a friendly village.

How to Get There

It is difficult to spot this hidden area because the Carian Study Hall blocks its view somehow, which is why many players have passed it when exploring the area. It is located on the eastern side of the Liurnia of the Lakes region, near the lengthy bridge. From the Liurnia Highway North Site of Grace, go north along the main road until you reach the bridge. From there, turn right and go down the stone gravestones and you will reach Jarburg.

Rewards

The Hoslow's Petal Whip, Diallos's Mask, and the Companion Jar Talisman are the most exciting rewards in Jarburg, but you can only get them by completing a side quest involving the NPC named Diallos. In addition, the village also offers certain uncommon resources used for crafting, like Trina's Lily, Eye of Yelough, and Arteria Leaf, as well as a variety of golden runes and ritual pots.

We hope that we have provided you with some new details regarding these Elden Ring mysteries and secret areas. After you visit all these areas, you will definitely be better equipped, and you will learn many new things about this game. Of course, there are many more secret areas in Elden Ring, but we think that those are the best to visit first.
