With the arrival of New World Season 8 - “Season of the Divide” on May 13, 2025, Aeternum is set to undergo a dramatic transformation.
This update introduces not only innovative gameplay but also new features such as world bosses, map modes, artifacts, and appearance systems, further enriching the game content and enhancing the player experience. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the key highlights from the new season.
Hardcore Seasonal World
The Hardcore Seasonal World debuts with the new Unfallen mechanic. If players die even once, they will lose eligibility for the Unfallen title. Although their characters can continue to play, they will no longer be able to earn the corresponding rare rewards.
This game mode also simplifies the main storyline, drastically speeds up leveling and gear acquisition, and removes artifact equipment limits to unlock maximum combat potential.
It will be available for a limited time starting in early June and is well worth every challenger's participation.
New Map & PvP Gameplay Innovations
A new map, Coral Divide, debuts this season. With an oceanic theme, it features vertical combat dynamics and flanking routes, making it an intense PvPvE battleground.
Players will get a sneak peek at three limited - time PvP modes:
- Capture the Flag: A 10v10 battle to secure and escort the flag.
- Barebones Outpost Rush: No perks, maxed gear - victory depends entirely on player skill.
- New 3v3 Arena Map: Set in an ancient temple grove with faster - encroaching death fog, shifting the advantage from ranged to melee combat as the match progresses.
Limited - Time World Boss Challenge
Multiplayer challenges against Level 70 bosses. Every battle ensures one 725 GS item along with several items of 710 GS or higher.

New Feature: The Barbershop
Use Barbershop Tokens to change your character’s appearance - these can be earned through gameplay or bought from the in - game store. All players will receive one free token via the Season Pass!

- Faction Fest: Expeditions
- Fury of the Spriggan

- Faction - Controlled PvP Camps: Set up or eliminate faction - linked respawn points to gain a tactical advantage on the battlefield.
- Ready – Up: Start fighting immediately after a successful match.
- Spectator Cam: View the ongoing match after being eliminated in supported game modes.
- Targeting System Tweaks: The aim assist has been weakened to increase the operational challenge, making battles more fair and skill - based.
