Best Farming Spots in PoE 2 (Acts 1-3)
Farming is a crucial aspect of any action RPG, and Path of Exile 2 is no exception. With a lengthy journey to the endgame and plenty of time spent in between, new players might struggle to find dedicated farming spots. In this video guide, ItalianSpartacus shares his favorite farming locations in Path of Exile 2, detailing how to farm items effectively, what to look for, and more.
Farming Locations Overview
Act 1: Mausoleum of the Praetor
Use the waypoint to enter the mausoleum, dodge the boss, and look for the treasure room.
Act 2: The Lost City
This area features a treasure chest and a mini-boss patrolling one part of the zone.
Act 3: The Venom Crypts
Accessed via the Jungle Ruins waypoint, loot all the sarcophagi for plenty of loot and experience.
Important Notes
These farming spots will be more beneficial once you reach Cruel difficulty and are looking for gold, gear, and orbs in PoE 2. Keep in mind that unique item drops are not guaranteed, as they are entirely based on random number generation (RNG). Additionally, this guide does not provide endgame farming information for players above level 65.
Farming Strategy
It is recommended to focus on spots that are conveniently close to waypoints. For instance, Ancient Ruin is connected to the Mausoleum of the Praetor. When you hover over the Mausoleum of the Praetor, a dotted line appears, indicating that a chest is located there. This tells you that farming in this area will yield a chest each time you reset the instance.
Instance Management
To reset instances, click on the waypoint (not town portal) and use Ctrl + Left Click to create a new instance.
Best Farming Locations in PoE 2 (Acts 1-3)
Act 1: Mausoleum of the Praetor
Enter the Mausoleum of the Praetor and clear the area of enemies. Look for the sarcophagus to find loot. This location is more suitable for obtaining PoE 2 gold, orbs, and gear rather than farming experience points. In Cruel difficulty, the loot will be significantly better.
Act 2: The Lost City
You are heading to The Lost City in search of the Golden Tomb, which is your target. As you explore the area, you will encounter a beetle known as The Ninth Treasure of Keth. Defeating this beetle can be a valuable source of experience, especially in Cruel difficulty. However, it may prove to be a more challenging foe if you do not have adequate resistance.
In summary, The Lost City is worth your time, especially if you're looking for crafting materials and superior items.
Act 3: The Venom Crypts
The final location in Act 3 offers plenty of farming opportunities due to its numerous chests and nearby waypoints. It's a fairly straightforward act, but it is recommended to focus on the Venom Crypts. Unfortunately, you can't teleport directly there, so you can start at the Jungle Ruins, from where you can jump into The Venom Crypts.
The reward chests appear throughout the entire map and can drop items of varying rarities. The key is to collect as much loot as possible. In Act 3, you can find gold and valuable items, and these rewards will improve once you enter Cruel difficulty.
Loot Management
Selling on the Trade Site
If you have a weapon to sell, the Path of Exile 2 trading site is a great option.
Breaking Down Items
You can break down rare items for valuable resources. For instance, a rare item can yield a Regal Orb, or if it has sockets, you can salvage it. The options depend on your character and the situation.
Some items, especially those with quality, should be salvaged for superior materials. This can provide you with:
• Armourer's Scrap (Increases Armor Quality)
• Blacksmith's Whetstone (Increases Weapon Quality)
• Arcanist's Etcher (Increases Weapon Quality)
Identifying Valuable Items
At present, the market values maximum life and resistance highly. For example, an item with energy shield, maximum life, and cold resistance could sell for a significant amount—potentially two or three Orbs of Augmentation or even an Exalted orb. If you come across an item that doesn't suit your character, consider selling it.
Crafting and Enchanting
Items like the Jade Amulet may seem unremarkable, but they can be enchanted with an Orb of Alchemy. Even if it doesn't benefit your class directly, it could be useful for others. For instance, an amulet with a base implicit of +10 to Spirit can be enhanced with additional mods.
Evaluating Item Potential
Always hold down the Alt key to check the maximum rolls on items. For example, an item with near-max rolls for maximum life or dexterity can indicate high value, especially if it aligns with popular character builds.
Conclusion
