How to upgrade weapons in Elden Ring

To upgrade your weapon, you need to find a smithing stone. You can find the first smithing table at the Church of Elleh. To interact with it, you can visit the weapon upgrade system UI. But please notice that from here, you can only upgrade weapons from 1-3, so if you want to upgrade your weapon higher. You need to visit Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold. From here, you can upgrade your weapon to the max level.
