Here's a detailed guide to help you make the most of patch 1.13:

1. Optimize Your Build

Given the balance changes, you may need to adjust your build:

• Weapons: Focus on upgrading weapons that have received buffs. For instance, Light Greatswords and Repeating Crossbows have seen improvements.

• Skills and Spells: Reevaluate your skill and spell choices. The initial lightning spear has increased attack power, while subsequent spears have decreased power.

• Armor and Talismans: Adjust your armor and Talismans to align with the new balance changes, especially if you rely on poise and invulnerability windows.

2. Gather Resources

Stock up on essential resources:

• Smithing Stones and Gloveworts: These are crucial for upgrading your weapons and spirits. Explore areas like the Mohgwyn Palace and the Land of Shadow to find these materials.

• Crafting Materials: Collect materials for crafting items that will aid you in the DLC. This includes ingredients for potions, bombs, and other consumables.

3. Level Up Strategically

Invest your runes in Elden Ring wisely:

• Attributes: Focus on attributes that complement your build. For example, if you're using a Strength build, prioritize Strength and Endurance.

• Equipment Upgrades: Upgrade your weapons and armor to the highest possible level before entering the DLC. This will give you a significant advantage against tougher enemies.

4. Explore and Prepare

Before diving into the DLC, explore the existing game world to:

• Complete Side Quests: Finish any remaining side quests to gain additional rewards and experience.

• Defeat Optional Bosses: Take down optional bosses to collect valuable new DLC items and runes.

• Join Online Communities: Engage with online communities to get tips and strategies from other players. Joining groups can provide cooperative gameplay opportunities.

5. Plan Your Progression

Map out your progression through the DLC:

• Follow the Main Questline: Start by following the main questline to unlock new areas and story content.

• Explore Thoroughly: Take your time to explore each area thoroughly. Look for hidden paths, secret items, and lore pieces that enrich the game's story.

• Prepare for Boss Fights: Each major area will culminate in a boss fight. Ensure you're well-prepared with upgraded gear and consumables.

6. Invest in the Long Term

Consider the long-term investment in your character:

• Skill Mastery: Master the new skills and spells introduced in the patch. Practice using them in various combat scenarios to understand their strengths and weaknesses.

• Build Versatility: Develop a versatile build that can adapt to different challenges. This will help you tackle both PvE and PvP content effectively.

By following these steps, you can tackle the challenge of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and make the most of Patch 1.13. Happy adventuring in the Lands Between!
