10 Things You Need to Know When Starting Path of Exile
Path of Exile is an ARPG that is quite famous among gamers. Path of Exile is a famous game played by many famous YouTubers and gamers, but it does not mean that the game is easy to play. However, Path of Exile is still new to many players, and this guide is for those who intend to play PoE and looking forward to having the edge over the complicated game.
You Should Know About These 10 Things if You're Going to Play Path of Exile
This is true; there is no game like Path of Exile in terms of depth, building strategy, and quests. Path of Exile is free to play. You don't need to buy the game from any game engine or online store; you can download it for free.
Path of Exile is free to play, but it doesn't mean this game is for everyone. It is complicated and should be played with friends or take the help of the PoE community. If you're going to play the league Solo, there is no chance you would stand out alone.
PoE offers deep character customization from build, skills, armor, and much more than an ARPG game can offer. This game requires skill and strategy, and without these two skills, this game will be hard to complete. If you are new to this game, here are some significant points you should consider before starting the game.
Don't make mistakes like other gamers who start the game without knowing it, and during the game, they ruin and fill up their inventory just because of not having the proper knowledge about Path of Exile.
Before starting the PoE, we would like to give a pro tip: don't sell any of your inventory items until you reach level 60 because this is where you will unlock more secrets of the PoE. So, save all your inventory items till then.
1. Do Not Waste Your Currency on Buying Low - Items
Anything in Path of Exile under level 60 is considered a low item because, at level 60, you start getting some good stuff, but till then, all the basic things like every RPG game offers.
In Path of Exile, if you want some advanced level inventory and to make your character even more powerful, you have to work till you reach level 60. And at that level, you can buy rare items and more customization options. Don't waste currency on the low level.
Although it is a little hard to reach level 60, and you will be required to update your inventory according to the current level, try to save as much as you can until you reach level 60.
2. Don't Trade Any Item until it is Necessary
Trading plays an essential role in every RPG, but in Path of Exile, things are slightly different from other games. Trading in Path of Exile is a core part, and you must be very vigilant in trading one single trade in the wrong direction, which will affect your whole gameplay.
There is no need to take much tension about trading; we provide a single trick that will help you in trading. If you are trading a gem, ensure its quality is 6% or even less. You can buy Alchemy Orb in exchange for a gem whose quality is 6%. Don't sell or trade gems above 6% quality.
3. Leagues are Considered the Main Way to Play
If you have completed the standard story of Path of Exile and are looking for more adventure, then Leagues in Path of Exile are the best in providing more adventure and rare rewards. Every new league in Path of Exile offers a different story and final rewards. These leagues are the primary source for keeping the players engaged with Path of Exile. You can also collect rare and unique items through these League mechanics and Quests.
4. Build Choice
Even if you have played Path of Exile for a long time, many players still don't know what to do when building. If you are new to Path of Exile and in the phase of selecting builds, make sure you don't blindly choose one build. We recommend you go through the guides in selecting the builds. You can take advantage of the PoE community, one of the best ways to select your build.
5. Follow a Skill Tree Build
The only way to survive in the game and to complete its main quest is to have a character having a good build and a relevant skill set. Following the right build is the only option, so it's best to follow the PoE community and see the guide that suits your league and helps you to create a build. You need to stick with the active skill set and follow your tree build, and you will have an advantage of this in the game.
6. If Any Item has 3-colour Sockets, Stash it
As we already told you about trading in Path of Exile, nothing comes for free if you need to trade in Path of Exile, you should have some worthy item or a rare to trade, and there is a chance you might get something more powerful. If you have a great item to trade, there is a high chance you will get something more valuable and relevant to enhance your power.
The PoE gives you plenty of options for looting and if you come across any item with three different sockets, pick it up. It will be a worthy item to trade with the vendor, and if you are in luck, you will get Chromatic Orb which is far more worth the item you traded.
7. Save the Gems of +Quality
If you find any +quality gem during loot, don't just sell it to the vendor. You need to collect gems of +12% quality, and they should be in bulk before you approach the vendor to sell them out.
If you sell 2-4 gems, you will not get enough from the vendor in exchange. So don't waste any gem of +12% quality. Keep them safe, and once you collect enough, you can sell them to the vendor to get Gemcutter's Prism.
8. Pick up All Orbs
In Patch of Exile, everything is valuable once you understand its use and worth in PoE. Many players in Path of Exile pick only those items and orbs they think it's beneficial to them and drop off all other items.
Don't make such a mistake. Pick up all the orbs even if you don't know what to do with them, but later on, you can learn about them via the PoE community, and once you figure them out, you can sell those orbs to the vendor for rare items, or you can keep them for future use.
9. Home Cities
Path of Exile has a massive ground and map to cover; if you think you can walk from one place to another, it will take a lot of time. In Path of Exile, once you discover the home city, you can do fast travel. Most importantly, you will get most quests in PoE's home cities.
10. Don't Treat It Like a Diablo Clone
There is no doubt that Diablo was the inspiration for the making of Path of Exile, but now Path of Exile has gone too far from Diablo. It doesn't matter if you have played Diablo, but PoE is a different game now.
So please don't play like Diablo. Many users consider PoE as the clone of Diablo. Please don't make such a mistake; it will ruin your experience in PoE. You have to be creative while playing PoE. At last, follow it religiously no matter what.
