Wrath Classic Phase 2 Is Coming on Jan 17, with Ulduar Opening on Jan 19
Blizzard has announced that WotLK Phase 2 will come on Jan 17, with Ulduar opening on Jan 19. In this phase, players can expect a brand-new emblem, Emblem of Conquest, the start of the Argent Tournament, a new PvP season, and a fan-favorite raid - Ulduar.
Based on recent community feedback, Blizzard has tossed around ideas to improve the experience of Ulduar, including higher level drops so they won't immediately be outclassed by upcoming content, bringing pre-nerf versions of bosses, and additional drop adjustments for Heroic mode with a similar consideration for Season 6 PvP rewards.
Lots of content will come on Jan 17. We'll see a new take on dungeons with Titan Rune dungeons that are similar to Mythic+ dungeons in retail WoW. These dungeons will have themed affixes making them more difficult and providing better loot.
Season 6 PvP is kicking off as well, awarding top-tier PvPers with the Furious Gladiator title and Furious Gladiator's Frost Wyrm mount. Players will get a first look at the Argent Tournament grounds, which will open with new content and quests when Phase 2 launches — even though the associated dungeon and raid won't be live until Phase 3.
Here's a Small Rundown on What to Expect:
Available Starting on Jan 17
Dungeon and Raid Emblem Changes
A new Emblem type - the Emblem of Conquest will be available. It can be obtained from all bosses in Ulduar and from the "Proof of Demise" Heroic Dungeon daily quests.
New Emblem of Conquest Vendors
The Argent Tournament Begins!
Conquer the Arena in Season 6
Titan Rune Dungeons
Available Starting on Jan 19
New Raid: Ulduar
Ulduar is widely considered to be one of the best raids in WoW's history. No doubt, a lot of players are eagerly waiting for WotLK so that they can play Ulduar once again.
WotLK developers have already confirmed that Ulduar will be released in its pre-nerf version, and they also plan to buff a number of the encounters. That will likely present a notable rise in raiding difficulty.
Available Starting the Week of Jan 23
New Vault of Archavon Boss
Emalon the Storm Watcher will challenge all who dare enter the east wing of Vault of Archavon to raid in Wintergrasp.
