As the release of World of Warcraft's latest expansion, The War Within, approaches, players are eagerly anticipating the new content and challenges that await. To ensure we are ready to dive into the new expansion, Dalaran, a fantastic YouTube creator, shared a preparation guide on his YouTube channel. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to Azeroth, these tips will help you maximize your pre-expansion time. Let's dive in.

WoW: How to Prepare for The War Within Expansion – Things You Should Do

Inventory Management

First, you should clean out your bags, especially if you're looking to play multiple characters. Going into the next expansion with a clean bag is crucial. The bag concept here doesn't just mean your bag space; it also refers to your bank inventory, like Reagent Bank and Warband Bank. So, clear out bags and sell unnecessary items at the auction house right now to earn some gold for The War Within expansion.

You can deposit the gold you earned into the Warbound Bank for all your alts to share. The Warband Bank is a new feature that allows players to store and share non-soulbound items and resources across all characters on a single Battle.net account. This includes the ability to store and transfer gold, making it easier to manage resources between characters on different realms. You can customize it if you have gold to buy additional slots, or if you right-click any of the tabs, you can customize them with a name. Name a tab as "Profession" and deposit materials needed in the Warbound Bank slots to let your other alts utilize all of them to craft items. If you haven't tried this system, try it now!

Consumables

It's also important to get the Consumables you can utilize during the leveling journey. Here they are:

Flasks

Flasks are consumable items that provide hour-long buffs to your character. These buffs persist through death, making them valuable for both PvE and PvP content. Each flask enhances a different secondary stat, allowing players to tailor their character's strengths to their play style.

As your character will get specific or randomized stats more or less by replacing the gear, and you can't really control the best secondary stats, buying a flask with the stats you need can be helpful.

Gunshoes & Goblin Glider Kit

We are able to Skyride in the next expansion, so flying will essentially be your main way to traverse around places. But if you're in combat, Gunshoes is a faster way to escape danger or go from one side quest to another, as it allows your character to move at a very high speed for a short duration. The same thing goes for the Goblin Glider Kit. Goblin Glider Kit can reduce your falling speed for 2 minutes, allowing you to glide safely from high places. This item is very handy for avoiding fall damage and can be used in various scenarios, including battlegrounds.

Dreamwalker's Healing Potion

Dreamwalker's Healing Potion doesn't cost a lot at the auction house, so stocking on a handful of these can help you survive as you quest along in the new zones.

Feral Hide Drums

Feral Hide Drums is useful, especially if you don't have a character with Bloodlust available.

Light-Step Hoofplates

Outfitting your mounts with Light-Step Hoofplates allows them to gain additional grounded movement speed, and this can thus help you with the quest efficiency.

Battle Standard of Coordination

If you are upgraded far enough with the reputation in your guild, you will be able to buy Battle Standard of Coordination, which can be used if you are leveling in a party. For example, you're participating in a battleground, and your team is pushing towards capturing a key objective, such as a tower or graveyard. Placing the Battle Standard of Coordination near your team can provide a significant boost to honor gains from defeating enemy players and completing battleground objectives.

Buying these consumables before the prices start to rise is a wise choice now.

Log out in the Right Location

Another thing you should do is log out in the Legion version of Dalaran, as this seems to be where we start our initial questline to get into the new zones of The War Within. So, if you want to get your character parked out anywhere, park it at Dalaran. If anything, your character is here and ready to start questing immediately.

Finish Out the Pre-Patch Event

Finish the Radiant Echo pre-patch event before this event is gone, as it is a good chance to gear your alts. You also have different collectibles to gain from this event, such as a mount that is available, one version for Alliance and one version for Horde, three different pets, and a variety of armors that can be used to help you level.

Limited-Time Raid Rewards

For the rewards that are currently earnable but will be going away once The War Within officially launches, Awakened Raid rewards are one of them. Get the mounts for defeating all of the different bosses on normal difficulty, especially the Voyaging in Wilderling, which is one of the easier mounts to earn. Other rewards include a title of Awakened hero for defeating all of the bosses on Heroic and portals to all three Awakened Raid locations if you defeat all of the bosses on Mythic difficulty.

Limited-Time M+ Rewards

Another set of rewards going away is the Mythic+ rewards, specifically the Draconic Hero Title, for earning a 1,500 score within Mythic+. Also, the portals for every single one of the original Dragonflight raids, which are part of this current season, will disappear once the expansion officially launches. To get the portals, you have to complete any of these dungeons on a plus ten difficulty, which is also easy to do right now, with all the content much easier to get into.

Spend Bronze Bullions

Spend the Bronze Bullions before the season 4 ends. For example, Bullions can be utilized to buy some of the endgame gear. You can also spend your Bullions on the cosmetic rewards from the infinite importer, like the Jigglesworth, Sr. mount, available back in Shadowland but brought back in for the Awakened Raiding.

You also have a variety of different cosmetic items from all the raids of Dragonflight to purchase, which come from the different difficulties of each raid tier.

BMAH Vendor Items

Another vendor that will go away by the end of this month is the bonus NPC added to the Black Market Auction House, which is located off the edge of the Obsidian Enclave. Inside it, you'll have a vendor that has a few items, like mounts, weapons, and armor cosmetics. You can purchase them for raw gold.

Trading Post Rotation

Like the vendor in the BMAH, all of the items in Trading Post are not necessarily linked to The War Within expansion, but the rotation of the Trading Post will be switching by the beginning of September. As we all know, Trading Post is essentially a way for players to get a variety of different cosmetics by doing in-game activities. You'll have the Trading Post Journal, which gives you some different tasks that you can complete to earn the currency - Trader's Tender. You can then use the currency to buy Cosmetics at the Trading Post. But currently, if there is no item you want to buy, saving the currency for the new expansion is also a good idea.
