The new expansion Dawntrail has just been released, and there are a lot of new features and settings you can change to improve your FFXIV gaming experience. Medieval Marty shared six of them on his YouTube channel, which can be easily missed. Let’s find out what they are.

Six Secrets You Don’t Know in FFXIV Dawntrail

Unlock Facewear

If you wanted to wear glasses or a monocle before, you had to glamour your headpiece, meaning you would lose whatever you had on your head to have your glasses on. But now, with the new Facewear slot, you can have both a headpiece and spectacles.

To unlock this, you need to head to a Calamity salvager, a vendor located in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks. Talk to him and unlock the system. Besides, if you're looking for some glasses to fill this slot, head to the Manderville Gold Saucer and use MGP to buy them. There are options you can pick from.

Free Fantasia

Now, everybody gets a free Fantasia. Whether you've had one or not before, you are now getting one for free in Dawntrail after doing a quest. Head to Ul'dah - Steps of Thal and talk to the Medicine Merchant, who will give you the quest, which is easy to complete. And then, you get a free Fantasia. With the changes to the graphical updates and the new race added, it's tempting to switch some things up for Dawntrail.

Sharper Graphics

Next is a small change in your settings that can give you a massive graphics boost. Go to System Configuration, and click Graphics Settings and you will see 3D Resolution Scaling. If you've installed Dawntrail, this will be set at 100 as default. However, if you drop this from 100 to 99, it will kick in a much sharper resolution. You can give this a try. Easy Relic Weapons

With the release of Dawntrail, all of our old tomestones, like Tomestones of Causality and Tomestones of Comedy, now have no use and can be turned into Tomestone of Poetics. In the old days, you would use Tomestones like Causality to craft the old Manderville relic weapon. But now, we can directly spend Poetics. If you start doing roulettes in Dawntrail, you'll get more Poetics. Use these to get relics for your jobs.

Double Dye

The new gear coming in Dawntrail would all be double dyable, meaning that you can add a main dye and a second dye for the features of the outfit. However, if you start clicking all your old gear, you'll notice that lots of it does allow double dye, such as the old glamour items. So, have a look through what you've got and see if you can double-dye.

Questing Trick

When you're trying to accept a quest, you may find everyone is crowding around the quest giver due to the expansion launch. The place gets very busy, and it can be hard to click. However, there is a new setting through which you can clear a few people up around the quest giver. It doesn't ruin the immersion because it still has people around. All you need to do is go to the Character Configuration, click Control Settings, and scroll to the bottom, where you will see “Quest Progression Settings.” Then, click “Hide nearby players when close to quest NPCs”, which allows you to remove that little cluster around the NPC. With this, you can just walk in, click your NPC, and walk away.
