As World of Warcraft's latest expansion, The War Within, kicks off its first Season, players are diving into the new Delves feature to gear up and prepare for the challenges ahead. Delves offer a unique blend of exploration and combat, providing opportunities to earn high-level gear and enhance your character's power. So, MrGM recently uploaded a YouTube video detailing how to gear up using the Delves system in Season 1. Let's dive in and explore his tips and strategies. If you need to buy WoW TWW gold with fast delivery and low price, MmoGah can be your best choice.

What is a Delve?

Delves are a new open-world PvE endgame feature designed to provide players with challenging content and valuable rewards. They have no timers or restrictions, and you can do them alone or with up to five players with an NPC companion.

There are different tiers of difficulties, ranging from 1 to 11. Tier 1 to 3 are available on the pre-season patch. With the start of the Season, tier 4 to 11 are available. To unlock the next tier of Delves, you need to complete the previous one with revives remaining. Delves above Tier 3 have a limit of 5 revives per delve, meaning your party can only revive five times before the Delve is considered failed. Losing all your revives doesn't end your run, but it does affect the rewards at the end. Besides, all of these unlocks are across all 12 Delves, meaning if you unlock tier 5 on one Delve, you will unlock tier 5 across all of the Delves.

Regular Delves

There are two different types of Delves that you'll see on the map - Regular Delves and Bountiful Delves.

Regular Delves are always available and can be run endlessly, allowing you to dive in as often as you like. All 11 tiers of Regular Delves drop Valorstones and Crests, which are essential items used to upgrade your gear. The specific Crest type depends on the tier, with tier 1 to 5 dropping Weathered Harbinger Crests, tier 6 to 7 dropping Carved Harbinger Crests, and tier 8 to 11 dropping Runed Harbinger Crests, which is the highest Crest you can obtain through Delves. Likewise, the number of Valorstones dropping also varies depending on the difficulty of the Delve, capping out at tier 8.

Regular Delves do have gear drops. However, the gear dropped caps out at item level 554 at tier 3, so it's not really worth your time. But you can still do these Regular Delves for Valorstones, Crests, or Cosmetics.

Bountiful Delves

Bountiful Delves is where the real gear comes from. They are a type of Delves that provides top-tier rewards and unique achievements. It rotates every day and contains an extra chest at the end, which requires a Restored Coffer Key to open. Restored Coffer Keys are a new currency coming in The War Within. You can get it by gathering 100 Coffer Key Shards, which can be combined to create a Restored Coffer Key, or completing weekly quests to earn caches. Up to four of these caches per week can contain a Restored Coffer Key.

Bountiful Delves will be marked on the map as a glowing entrance, and when you go to the entrance of the Delve, it will also have a golden portal, so you can't miss it when it is Bountiful. There are four Bountiful Delves per day, one for each zone. Completing a Bountiful Delve consumes one Restored Coffer Key, so do this on the highest tier that you can possibly do for the best rewards.

Once you complete a Delve, you'll have two different types of chests. One is the blue chest that you don't need any keys to open. It drops various Crests and Valorstones, the same as the chests from the Regular Delves. The other chest is the Bountiful chest, which requires a Coffer Key to open. You'll get different levels of gear depending on the tier you do.

 Bountiful Delves

So, if you want the best loot, you can just do tier 8 simply. 603 Champion gear is pretty high. It's worth noting that items from tier 5 to 11 can be catalyzed into tier sets, so once the catalyst is active, you can change that into the new tier set of season 1 with charges.

The Great Vault

In the Great Vault, there are three boxes on the World row. You don't need to do Bountiful Delves exclusively to fill these out; any type of Delves is fine. Even if you run out of revives, as long as you complete the Delves, you will get the rewards.

The Great Vault

The first one is to complete two Delves, the second is to complete four, and the final is to complete eight Delves. So, what you want to do is complete 8 Delves per week on the highest difficulty you can do, capping out at tier 8. Here is the gear you can get from the Great Vault.

If you're not confident doing a tier 8, tier 7 is fine because they are both hero tracks, and you can upgrade the gear if you want to.

Hidden Caches

Another source is hidden caches, which are a Delver's Bounty item and rare drops from any tier of Delves. If you got a Delver's Bounty from a tier 8, once you've activated it, your next tier 8 will have a hidden cache at the end of it. Inside this hidden cache is a much higher item level than you would have gotten from a bountiful chest. The highest item you can get from a tier 8 hidden cache is 610 Hero, which is awesome.
