The Colosseum DLC is a highly anticipated addition to Elden Ring, offering players a dedicated space to engage in PVP combat. This new feature brings a level of structure and fairness to PVP that was previously lacking, making it an enjoyable experience for all players.

Elden Ring DLC-1

In the Colosseum, players are able to queue up and enter into organized matches against other players of similar skill levels. This ensures that each battle is a fair and evenly matched fight, rather than the chaotic and often one-sided PvP encounters that were common in the past. This time, you can be a little ahead of your opponents if you have many Elden Ring runes in hand.

In addition to the organized matches, the Colosseum also offers a variety of different game modes and match types to choose from. Whether you prefer a fast-paced free-for-all or a more tactical team-based battle, there is something for everyone in the Colosseum.

How to Get Started?

Are you eager to enter the Colosseum in Elden Ring and engage in player versus player (PVP) combat? Here's how to get started:

Head to the entrance of any Colosseum and open the gates.

Set up your match parameters by interacting with the Statue of Marika.

Once you've done this for the first time, you can quickly enter any Colosseum by using the Marika Effigy at the Roundtable Hold.

Keep in mind that there are three Colosseums in total, each located in a different area and offering different PVP modes.

So if you have a specific type of PVP match in mind, make sure to find the Colosseum that offers it. Here you can find a combat guide for each Colosseum in Elden Ring, so you know what awaits you.

How to Unlock the Colosseum?

Elden Ring DLC-2

Limgrave Colosseum

If you're looking for an easy Colosseum to access in Elden Ring, the one located in Limgrave is the best option. This Colosseum is situated near the beginning of the game and is easily accessible from the Warmaster Shack site of grace.

To get there, simply use the Warmaster Shack as a fast travel point and then head north until you exit the woods. You'll find the Colosseum in Limgrave just a short distance away. Keep in mind that this Colosseum, like all the others in the game, offers different PVP modes for players to enjoy.

Here you'll have two different game modes to choose from:

United Combat: In this mode, players are divided into two teams and participate in timed battles with respawn active. The team with the most kills at the end of the battle is declared the winner.

Combat Ordeal: This mode features timed free-for-all battles with respawn active. Players must fight to the death in a no-rules fight for dominance.

Leyndell Royal Colosseum

Elden Ring DLC-3

First, you'll need to defeat the formidable Draconic Tree Sentinel and enter the Capital City. From there, the path to the Colosseum depends on your progress in the game's story. If you're early on, take the scenic route by going down to street level and climbing up the tree roots and stairs to the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace and then the cliff.

If you've already taken down the formidable Maliketh at Crumbling Farum Azula, the journey to the Colosseum is a bit easier - just follow the altered landscape up the slope and make your way to the Colosseum. When you arrive, get ready to face off against other players in epic PVP battles.

Game Mode

At the Leyndell Royal Colosseum, the only available PVP mode is Duel Mode, a one-on-one battle between two players with no respawns. The winner is determined by who can outlast their opponent - the first player to die loses the match.

Caelid Colosseum

To unlock the Colosseum in Caelid, you'll need to discover the Siofra River and make your way to the Worshipper's Woods on the east side of the map. From there, head north to the Below the Well Site of Grace and climb the stone structure to activate the elevator to Caelid with two Stonesword Keys.

Take the elevator to the surface and the Deep Siofra Well Site of Grace in Caelid, then defeat the two Giant Golem Archers blocking your path. In front of the Great Jar, you'll find sigils that, when interacted with, will spawn the Great Jar's warriors - three in total that you must defeat to earn the Great Jar Arsenal talisman and access to the Colosseum door hidden behind the Great Jar.

If you're defeated by one of the warriors, don't worry - simply defeating one counts as a win, so you can continue the challenge until all three are defeated.

Game Modes

At the Colosseum in Caelid, you'll have access to all PVP modes, including Ashes. This means that you can play any of the modes available in the other Colosseum, with the added option of using some great Ashes of War.

Dominate the Colosseum

Elden Ring DLC-4

Here are some valuable tips and tricks that will help you in becoming the king of all three Colosseums.

Observe Your Opponent

Maybe the first and most important thing is to observe and analyze your opponent as quickly as possible. In a PVP duel at the Colosseum, you have three minutes to outsmart your opponent. Observe their abilities and playstyle while keeping your own strategy a secret.

DID YOU KNOW?

You can surpass your opponents by enhancing your character with some special items in the game.

Adjust your build if you have quick mechanics. Play defensively and surprise your opponent with a sudden attack when they least expect it. Use these tactics, and you'll be well on your way to victory in the Colosseum. Here you can find some OP Elden Ring Builds that will help you in these battles.

Be Unpredictable

To keep your opponent off balance, apply constant pressure. This will cause them to panic and disrupt their plans, whether they want to use a potion, cast a spell, or charge up a big attack. Be unpredictable and use unexpected abilities to throw them off guard. When their guard drops, be ready to strike with a killing blow. By following these tactics, you'll be able to disrupt your opponent's plans and gain the upper hand in combat.

Choose the Right Spirit Ash

In a duel at the Colosseum in Caelid, you and your opponent can each summon a Spirit Ash. To give yourself the best chance of victory, choose one of the most powerful Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring.

In a 1v1 duel, it's a good idea to summon your Spirit Ash at the beginning of the match while your opponent is at a safe distance. Keep in mind that Mimic Tear Ashes, which use HP instead of FP, may not be the most effective choice in this mode as there are no Flasks of Crimson Tears available for healing. Carefully select your Spirit Ash to give yourself an edge in this high-stakes battle.

Master the Art of War

Duel Mode in Elden Ring is the ultimate test of player versus player prowess. No longer can you blame your teammates for your defeat - it's just you against your opponent in a battle to the death in the Royal Colosseum.

To emerge victorious, you'll need to master the art of war, honing your skills in timing, positioning, and other essential combat techniques. But don't worry, you can practice against the foes in the Lands Between or challenge friends to duels in the Colosseum. Here you can find more useful tips and tricks for PvP battles.

Ranking System/Rewards

Elden Ring DLC-5

As stated above, there are three PvP modes in the Colosseum, and each has its own ranking system, so your rank in one mode does not affect your rank in another. Your rank can improve by winning matches and decrease by losing them, but there is no known way to check your MMR (Matchmaking Rating) or how it is calculated. There are five ranks, and while there are no known titles for each rank, the appearance of your banner in the Colosseum will change as your rank improves, with a more golden and radiant appearance at higher ranks. You can view your current rank by checking your banner in the Colosseum.

Missing Rewards

Although there are currently no tangible rewards for participating in PvP matches in the Colosseum, the sense of accomplishment and the chance to hone your skills are rewards on their own.

Who knows, maybe the developers will bring back the badge system from Dark Souls 3 or introduce new rewards in the future with a new patch. In the meantime, the Colosseum is still the perfect place to hone your combat skills and test yourself against other skilled opponents.

It's always a good time to jump into the action and see how you measure up against the competition. Therefore, don't miss your chance to showcase your skills and see how you stack up against other skilled opponents.
