In Elden Ring, Twinblades excel in synergy with multi-hit talismans, as their two-handed light and heavy attacks strike multiple times in quick succession, making them great with the Thorny Cracked Tear and other talismans. Twinblades also have some of the best jumping attacks and a wide range of weapon skill options. However, they have significant downsides, such as suboptimal damage with weapon skills compared to other classes and poor stance-breaking potential. Their two-handed combos do less stance damage than straight or curved swords, and they heavily rely on multi-hit talismans to achieve good damage output. While they can be powerful when built correctly, there are only eight Twinblades available in each playthrough, making it challenging to create a power-stancing build without using multiple blades. For players looking to enhance their builds, it's a great idea to buy some Elden Ring items to maximize the weapon's potential.

1. euporia twinblade elden ring shadow of the erdtree dlc wiki guide 200pxEuporia

The Euporia Twinblade excels in power-stancing jumping attack builds but may not be as versatile as an infusible Twinblade, which offers more flexibility with elemental infusions and buffs like Cragblade. While Euporia can deal the highest damage of any Twinblade, its exclusive holy damage is less effective in the base game due to many enemies having holy resistance. However, Euporia stands out for its unique effect and weapon skill, allowing it to generate a powerful projectile after stacking its buff through attacks. This projectile is highly effective, with great range, damage, and stance-breaking potential. The buff lasts long and can be retained even after switching weapons, making it very useful in both boss fights and clearing groups of enemies. Though it has some drawbacks in power-stancing builds, such as losing buffs on both weapons, it remains the best Twinblade overall, especially after recent buffs.

2. Godskin Peeler

The Godskin Peeler is considered the best infusible Twinblade in the game despite not matching the damage output of the Gargoyle's Twinblade for all infusion types. It stands out for its longer range, lighter weight, and dexterity-based scaling, which makes it a great pairing for power-stancing with Eleonoras Poleblade. Its real strength lies in its performance as a two-handed weapon. When combined with multi-hit talismans, the Godskin Peeler excels due to its unique heavy attack, which includes a piercing poke that delivers significantly more damage. This piercing damage benefits from counterattacks, making it the most damaging heavy attack among Twinblade. Overall, it's the best two-handed option, has great synergy with other weapons, and is easier to acquire than the Gargoyle's Twinblade.

3. Gargoyle's Twinblade

The Gargoyle's Twinblade is the highest-damaging Twinblade in the game, making it the best option for power-stancing jumping attack builds. Although it has the shortest range and is tied as the heaviest Twinblade, these downsides are minor and not very noticeable in gameplay. However, only one can be obtained per playthrough, meaning players would need New Game Plus or another Twinblade for power-stancing. Bleed infusions are popular for quickly proccing bleed with jumping attacks, though strength infusions also perform well. Many consider the Gargoyle's Twinblade deserving of the top spot, but other options offer more versatility, placing it just below them in rankings.

4. Eleonora's Poleblade

The Eleonora's Poleblade performs decently in the early game but excels in the late game when combined with multi-hit talismans and buffs like the Thorny Cracked Tear. While it has a unique charged heavy attack that hits more times and can deal significant damage, it is outclassed by the Godskin Peeler in heavy attack builds due to faster animations and better damage output. Eleonora's Poleblade shines in power-stancing jumping attack builds but doesn't offer the highest damage potential compared to other Twinblades. Its main strength lies in its weapon skill, which can quickly proc status effects and break stances, especially against smaller enemies, though its longer animation can be a drawback in certain situations. Overall, while powerful, it is often outperformed by other heavy attack builds, such as those with the Godskin Peeler, but remains a strong choice for stance-breaking and utility against smaller foes.

5. Twinned Knight Swords

The Twinned Knight Swords is one of two strength-based Twinblades in the game, alongside the Gargoyle's Twinblade. While it has less damage compared to the Gargoyle's Twinblade, it can be acquired earlier, has lower requirements, and offers slightly more range. However, the range and weight differences are minor and don't outweigh the Gargoyle's superior damage. Since only one Gargoyle's Twinblade can be obtained per playthrough, the Twinned Knight Swords becomes the next best option for power-stancing jumping attack builds, especially when paired with a bleed infusion. Despite its utility, it becomes redundant once players obtain a second Gargoyle's Twinblade in New Game Plus.

6. Black Steel Twinblade

The Black Steel Twinblade, one of two Twinblades from the DLC alongside Euporia, features split faith scaling and holy damage. A sacred infusion and a faith build can achieve some of the highest damage in the game, especially when combined with faith buffs. However, Euporia generally outclasses it due to its luster effect, which can deal more damage. The advantage of the Black Steel Twinblade is its ability to be infused, allowing flexibility between sacred and flame art infusions, making it useful against enemies resistant to holy damage. Despite this, Gargoyle's Twinblade or the Godskin Peeler is often preferred for its overall better damage and versatility. While it can be effective in power-stancing with Euporia, the latter doesn't gain the luster effect as effectively in power-stancing builds. Ultimately, though the Black Steel Twinblade is a solid weapon for certain builds, it lacks the overall utility of other options.

7. Twinblade

The regular Twinblade is a decent weapon but is outclassed by nearly every other Twinblade in the game, as they offer higher damage with most infusions. While it scales well with dexterity, even the strength-based Twinblades tend to outperform it. Its primary use is in power-stancing with the Godskin Peeler using a bleed infusion, as only one Twinblade can be acquired per playthrough. However, strength-based bleed builds with the Gargoyle's Twinblade and Twinned Knight Swords are generally better. Ultimately, the regular Twinblade serves as a good early-game option but is typically replaced by stronger alternatives later on.

8. Gargoyle's Black Blades

The Gargoyle's Black Blades are one of the weakest Twinblades in the game. They suffer from poor scaling, short range, low damage, and split holy damage. Unlike other weapons, they can't be infused or customized with unique skills, making them much less versatile. While the Gargoyle's Black Blade has a decent strength scaling, other infusible Twinblades provide better damage and range with strength builds. The weapon lacks any special effects or unique abilities, giving players little reason to use it. Overall, it's considered one of the worst Twinblades in the game.

DID YOU KNOW?
Runes can level up your character, upgrade weapons, and purchase essential items, enhancing your overall power and progression in the game.

Ranking Twinblades in Elden Ring is challenging due to their scarcity (one per playthrough) and the effectiveness of power-stancing builds. Despite the difficulty in ranking them, most Twinblades perform well, except for the Gargoyle's Black Blade, which is notably weaker. The differences between Twinblades are minor, making the ranking process feel like nitpicking. The focus should be on the merits of each weapon rather than their rank.
