Guide to the Leyndell Legacy Dungeon in Elden Ring
Having successfully conquered the Outer Wall region and killed the formidable Draconic Tree Sentinel, you now find yourself within a huge Legacy Dungeon. But the question remains: what should I do next? Well, in this article, we will guide you through the treacherous depths of the Leyndell Legacy Dungeon. While the city itself is a sprawling metropolis, we won't be delving into every corner.
Instead, we will reveal the vital path that leads you to the magnificent Erdtree, unveiling some hidden secrets and notable items along the way. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable adventure. So, let's waste no time and begin our exploration of this vast and wonderful realm.
Reach the East Capital Site of Grace
Our adventure begins at the entrance to Leyndell, the Royal Capital. Having triumphed over the formidable Draconic Tree Sentinel, we go forward into the heart of the city. As we cross the bridge leading to the capital, a welcoming sight awaits us: The Capital Ramparts Site of Grace.
It is here that we can take a moment to rest, upgrade our characters with special items, and prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.
Ascending the stairs to the left and riding the elevator, we continue our journey along the linear path that unfolds before us. Guided by our path, we venture through a sacred church, ascending yet another stone staircase. Then on the right, you should see the East Capital Ramparts Site of Grace residing in the room.
After savoring the breathtaking panorama of the city, we turn to our left and set our sights on the main path. There, a new breed of enemy awaits us, the Oracle Envoy. Although there are plenty of those enemies, they do not pose a significant threat. Dispatch them one by one, and progress toward the ruins that lie ahead.
Go to the Ground Level
Within the depths of the ruined building, you will see an enemy (broken statue) that spits fire and is obstructing our way. A clever maneuver on the left flank grants us a swift passage to strike him from behind. Descending to the lower level, our surroundings transform into a sanctuary guarded by an enemy called Page.
Proceeding cautiously, we step into another elevator, drawing closer to the ground level. After that, you will see a grand corridor. However, our progress is disrupted by barrels obstructing the entrance ahead, but there is also an opening to our left. Whichever path we choose, a hard challenge awaits.
Reach the Main Road of Leyndell, the Royal Capital
Rolling through the barrels reveals a clash with a knight wielding a lightning spear. Here you must be careful because he can be tricky, and three hits from the lightning spear can easily kill you.
Opting for the leftward path, you will encounter a trio of new enemy types. The best way to handle this situation is if you lure each foe into the corridor and confront them one by one.
Regardless of our chosen route, both paths will bring you to the same destination. Note one thing here, if you see a massive carriage and a golden knight, you are on the right path. Kill the knight and forge ahead, descending once more to ground level and joining the main road of Leyndell, the Royal Capital.
Go to the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace
Now, with countless possibilities spread ahead of us, we find ourselves standing at a crossroads. Numerous items and unexplored territories are in every direction. For now, we aim to traverse the city quickly, so we must direct our steps toward the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace. Establishing this checkpoint will serve as our anchor for the forthcoming events that lie ahead.
To reach this significant location, follow the main path and go west, where the road ascends to two huge statues. As we approach, an Erdtree Avatar will spawn. Once you beat him, proceed towards the stone steps, where more enemies await below the imposing statues along the main road.
Defeat the enemies, pass through the gate, and turn left. Bypass the horse stables, then focus on the massive tree root emerging from the ground. It will guide us as we ascend toward the Site of Grace. Start at the base of the root.
You shouldn't climb too high. Instead, follow the smaller branching root to the left, leading to a nearby building. Rush past some enemies there, enter a structure, and look to the right. Then you should see the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace. This is the perfect moment to enhance your character's capabilities with runes in Elden Ring. These powerful upgrades will bolster your skills and provide an edge in your next challenge.
First Boss Fight
With the checkpoint securely behind us, it's time to retrace our path back to the towering tree root we previously climbed. Just know that whenever you spot an enemy positioned on the tree, you know you are heading in the right direction. After you reach the top, prepare yourself, as a formidable boss encounter awaits. Be ready to face Godfrey, the First Elden Lord. You shouldn't worry much, because he can be overcome with the right strategies.
Godfrey possesses immense strength, but his attacks can be avoided once you understand their patterns. Although it's possible to utilize a shield, be cautious during the first phase as blocking his axe strikes will quickly drain your stamina. Instead, it's recommended to rely on dodging, to evade the majority of his assaults. Mastering the timing may take some practice, as the windup for many of his moves is longer than expected, but perseverance will definitely lead you to success.
Second Boss Fight
With our victory over Godfrey, the First Elden Lord is behind us. We stand ready to face an even tougher challenge ahead. The time has come to confront Morgott, the Omen King. He is one of the most challenging main bosses in Elden Ring. This battle will push your skills and determination to their limits.
Although Morgott shares some attacks with the previous boss, Margit, be prepared for a variety of new moves and a blood loss-inflicting second phase. Watch out for devastating maneuvers like Holy Blade Rain and Bloody Thrust, as they can deal substantial damage.
To beat Morgott, adequate preparation is crucial. Consider acquiring Margit's shackle from Patches, as it proves effective against Morgot. Exploit the boss's vulnerabilities to blood loss and the frost by applying suitable "coatings" to your weapons. Additionally, you could also consider summoning the mimic tear, as he will definitely be helpful against this boss. If you have trouble beating Morgott, here is a complete guide on how to beat him.
The Final Step
So, after you beat Morgott, the Omen King, a wave of satisfaction washes over you. You receive Morgott's Great Rune and the Remembrance of the Omen King as rewards for your triumph. Now, equipped with these powerful items, you are ready to venture beyond Leyndell's boundaries.
The once-blocked eastern gate is now open. With Morgott defeated, a new chapter of your epic journey begins. So, let the echoes of your victory guide you further.
