Elden Ring DLC Guide: New Big Leaks and Rumors

Elden Ring was quite active last week, and it is all related to the new 1.07 update. The 1.07 update was supposed to be a basic, balancing update, but once data miners discovered what was going on within, it swiftly evolved into one of Elden Ring's most significant updates, defining the course for the game's future. We have a lot to discuss, and I will also offer you some fresh, important leaks concerning this brand-new DLC. We are all excited about the new information we saw last week, so let's dive deeper into them.

Elden Ring DLC-1

Future Press Hints

We will start with the most recent leaks. Elden Ring's strategy guide publisher reported that Volume 2 had been postponed, presumably so it could include unreleased material from the new DLC.

The publishers, Future Press, had already released the first Volume, and they had intended to release Volume 2 in time for Christmas. However, they have postponed that release. This is what they have tweeted.

Elden Ring DLC-2

Fans assume that this indicates that the Elden Ring DLC may become available as early as 2023 due to the context of this tweet. The game's monsters, weapons, and bosses will be the main topics of the second book of the Elden Ring Strategy guide. It appears likely that Future Press has delayed the release of the new guide to incorporate bosses from the upcoming DLC and new Elden Ring content in general. Although it's still far from an official confirmation, this is fairly strong proof that there will be a new DLC. Until then, you can still develop your character with these unique Elden Ring Items that you can purchase in our store.

Big Leaks from Patch 1.07

As we all know, FromSoftware released a new 1.07 Patch for Elden Ring a couple of days ago, and there is a lot to discuss.

There were many nice improvements that we had requested, but perhaps the best aspect of this update was something that no one expected: it unintentionally revealed the Elden ring DLC. Hidden in the files of this patch were so many hints and things that some fans found that could potentially mean something big.

So in the new 1.07 patch, fans found multiple additional files with suspicious labels in some notes. However, it was the label on the code that said: "DLC and dlc01" that attracted everyone's attention. You can view an example of this tagline in the code here.

Elden Ring DLC-3

We may assume that items with this label are items that will be included in the DLC. The first suspicious elements in the notes marked with "dlc-01," which sort of kicked off this whole investigation, were a collection of player hairstyles that aren't currently present in the game.

Elden Ring DLC-4

Coliseums

There was another section in the files that were marked with the code "dlc01", and that section had an entire folder of the assets for the coliseums that can be found all over the map.

There are three coliseums in Elden Ring, one in Limgrave, one in Leyndell, and the third in Caelid, and we always speculated that one day they would open their doors for us. Therefore we can assume that these were intended to serve as the PvP arenas for Elden Ring. We were all expecting Elden Ring to have a PvP arena since all of the Dark Souls games had one, and it appears that wish is being fulfilled. It's also crucial to remember that the PvP Arenas for Dark Souls 1 and DS 3 arrived with the first DLC, so it is highly possible that Elden Ring will do the same. You can find further information on Elden Ring's Reddit page.

New Maps and Areas

The code for two new maps, including a brand-new Legacy dungeon, can also be found in the patch 1.07 files. These are all entirely new secret areas that have not yet been included in the game.

Elden Ring DLC-5

In the Elden Ring community, there are two different visions regarding what the new m45 map might include. The first thought is that the m45 is a specifically designed PVP arena. We can assume that because of the numerous PvP improvements and fixes that Patch 1.07 brought to the game. The other vision is that m45 will be a big new location that may be accessed through the upcoming DLC as part of a new story. Elden Ring contains a number of unresolved plot threads that could make the new DLC even more epic. The identity of Melina is one of the principal mysteries that remain after the main story finishes. While she serves as your guide for the majority of the game, and she basically keeps her past a secret. Therefore this is something that may be explored and resolved in the new DLC.

With all that information, we can assume that the DLC could be at least as big as the DS3 DLC Ashes of Ariandel, but given the size of Elden Ring, I think it might be even bigger. These are undoubtedly the best indications and hints for the new Elden Ring DLC that we have ever received. The next step is probably a new trailer.

Release Date

There has been no official announcement of an Elden Ring DLC release date. Therefore, it is impossible to predict when or even if it will occur. The most recent material additions in the previous two updates indicate that something is at least developing.

We're now approximately seven months away from the game's initial release, so let's compare the release dates and first DLCs of other FromSoftware games to see how long it took for them to be available.

Dark Souls: It took FromSoftware 11 Months to release the Artorias of the Abyss DLC

Dark Souls 2: It took FromSoftware 3 Months to release Crown of the Sunken King DLC

Dark Souls 3: It took FromSoftware 7 Months to release the Ashes of Ariandel DLC

Bloodborne: It took FromSoftware 8 Months to release The Old Hunters DLC

Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice: It took FromSoftware 1 year and 7 Months to release the new update.

If these instances serve as an example, it implies that if Elden Ring DLC is ever released, we will most likely have it officially announced until December 2022.

The 2022 Game Awards

The Game Awards ceremony for this year will be held on December 8, 2022. The event will now take place on the second Thursday of December, as has been the tradition for the previous few years.

Elden Ring is certain to win multiple prizes and reclaim the spotlight of this year's Game Awards. It might be the ideal opportunity for FromSoftware to reveal that gamers will be able to visit the Lands Between once more for a brand-new adventure. Therefore, we should not have to wait too long to see whether the Tarnished has any further adventures in Lands Between.

Possible New Endings

As we already know, the previous FromSoftware DLCs for Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2 included an extension of the base game's ending. It did this without contradicting or altering any of your previously unlocked endings. For example, when you finished all DLC packs in DS 2, you could unlock a different Ending by completing an additional quest in the Three Crowns DLC.

Something similar could also be present in the new Elden Ring DLC regarding new Endings. It will be intriguing to see how the DLC will affect the game's endings or the world that we travel through, the Lands Between.

New Main Boss

We have long wondered about the existence of one demigod because of his mysterious story, who is currently peacefully sleeping within his egg, Miquella the Unalloyed.

Elden Ring DLC-6

As we know, Miquella is Malenia's twin brother and definitely the most dangerous and powerful demigod in Elden Ring. So you probably asked yourself once, why don't we ever fight him? One argument is that there is no need to interact with him because we can get his Shard of the Elden Ring by murdering his captor and half-brother Mohg, the Lord of Blood.

And then there is the second argument, where the fans believe Miquella's absence is on purpose because FromSoftware rarely makes anything by accident. So far, we know that the demigod is sleeping in his egg, building up strength to heal his family, particularly his sister, who he wants to heal from her scarlet rot.

When he awakens to discover that a new Elden Lord has emerged and killed his entire family, including Malenia, he is not likely to be overjoyed. This puts Miquella in the ideal position to be the main antagonist of the new Elden Ring DLC. In addition to his growing strength, once he understands what has occurred, he will for sure have hatred toward the Tarnished.
