Dalaran (aka Dalaran City and Dalaran Regal) is a Magocratic city-state that was once located by the Lordamere Lake on the Alterac Mountains Shore in the Eastern Kingdoms. After its destruction by Archimonde, it was rebuilt during the campaign in Northrend and was elevated and transported above the Crystalsong Forest. It is now a neutral Magocratic city-state found in the continent of Northrend. It floats atop the crystal song village as a magical city.

WLK Dalaran-1

It is quite the favored location for lots of Wotlk players and offers a lot to the table; it has an abundance of Wrath-Quality Justice and Honor gear, many pets, mounts to choose from, vanity items, lots of trainers, and Class Trainers for Mages. It also has the Violet Hold instance. Dalaran has many areas of interest, and everyone with the Wotlk classic expansion is recommended to try venturing into it. Dalaran is not the easiest location to access, however, and some players are sure to be unaware of the conditions they will have to face during their expenditure. With that in mind, this guide is sure to assist with this issue.

Minimum Requirements for Dalaran

To access Dalaran, the player will need to be level 74 regardless of class (this excludes the Mage) and will also need to acquire a quest called "The Magical Kingdom of Dalaran" from their respective faction's NPCs. This quest is exclusive to level 74 players and will not appear if they're not at the appropriate level. Leveling up can indeed be tedious sometimes, and there is a huge amount of grinding to do typically. It might gatekeep you from some of the fun early on, so if you intend to level up as fast as possible to be able to do this quest and a lot more, it's recommended to buy quick and professional WotLK Classic power leveling. Although this is the traditional method of gaining access to Dalaran for Mages, there is a faster way to do it that will be explained later in this guide. So, Mages can consider this entirely optional. Here are the quest givers of both of the factions. Alliance and Horde and their respective locations.

Alliance: Magister Dath'omere (Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra); Baron Ulrik Von Stromhearth (Valgarde, Howling Fjord); Vas the Unstable (Wintergarde, Dragonblight); Image of Archmage Modera (Star's Rest, Dragonblight); Magistrix Haelenai (Amberpine Lodge, Grizzly Hills).

Horde: Magistrix Kaelana (Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra); Magistrix Phaelista (Conquest Hold, Grizzly Hills); Magister Tyr'ganal (Venomspite, Dragonblight); Magister Varenthas (Vengeance Landing, Howling Fjord); Image of Archmage Aethas Sunreaver (Agmar's Hammer, Dragonblight).

The Quest to Dalaran

WLK Dalaran-2

After you have met the requirements for Dalaran, the NPCs will offer you a teleport to Dalaran City and an item called "Kirin Tor Signet". After having been teleported, you will need to turn in your quest, and the item at The Violet Gate found in Runeweaver Square to an NPC called Archmage Celindra. This will further lead you to additionally take another quest by interacting with the same NPC known as Learning to Leave and Return: The Magical Way. This step would entail you taking the teleport crystal behind the NPC, getting you below the city into Crystalsong Forest, Violet Stand. Now you can enter Dalaran whenever you desire from the Teleport Crystal at Violet Stand in the Crystalsong Forest.

Additional Measures to Take After Entering Dalaran (Important)

WLK Dalaran-3

This is highly recommended after you've recently entered the city. You can set your Hearthstone to "Dalaran" if you find it a hassle to travel to the Violet Stand every time you want to gain access to the location. Setting your Hearthstone to a city will allow you to teleport directly to it efficiently without any inconvenience. Another very important thing to consider is the flight point from the flight master in Krasus Landing in Dalaran which will connect Dalaran to your faction's routes. There is yet another way of reaching Dalaran, but that requires you to be level 77. You can learn the skill Cold Weather Flying from the Flying Trainers in Northrend that have this specific skill by paying 1000 gold to do so. You can use this skill to fly to Dalaran if you wish, or alternatively can acquire an heirloom called Tome of Cold Weather Flight from an NPC called Hera Snowdawn in Krasus, landing in Dalaran, but you will have to be level 80 to do so. This can be beneficial if you have alt accounts. The Tome can be used if you're at least level 68. You can send the Tome to your alt accounts, and they can fly to Dalaran as soon as they are level 68.

Mage Route to Dalaran

WLK Dalaran-4

Mages and the Magic city undoubtedly go along well - it is easier to gain access to Daloran as a Mage, and here's how it's done. Mages can gain access to Dalaran as soon they are level 71. To do this, you will need to acquire a quest called Attunement to Dalaran that can be taken from the NPC Image of Archmage Modera at Stars' Rest if you're from the Alliance; or the NPC Image of Archmage Aethas Sunreaver at Agmar's Hammer if from the Horde. This quest will only appear if the player is at the appropriate level, and it is a class-specific quest which means any class other than a Mage will not be able to take this quest. After completing this quest, you can be taught Teleport: Dalaran by the NPC of your faction after turning in your quest. This skill will allow the player to be teleported to Dalaran whenever they wish to be. It is also recommended to learn the "Portal: Dalaran" spell, which can be found easily with Portal Trainers in major camps. This will let you teleport a whole party of any level to Dalaran, and with this spell, Mages can use this strategy for extra WoW WotLK Classic gold from anyone who wants to access Dalaran. It must be remembered that it might just be an alternative method for Non-Mages to access Dalaran very early on.

Attunement to Dalaran: Quest

As previously described in the Mage Route, this quest is necessary for mages who want to achieve earlier access to Dalaran. So, the steps to complete it must be briefly explained. You will need to travel to Moonrest Gardens, into the Ley Lines of Northrend, and kill Arcanimus, who is currently present under the Surge Needle in a pit. You can be attacked on the way, so it is important you are ready for all encounters. After reaching Moonrest Gardens, the surge needle will be visible to you. Arcanimus can be spotted in the pit under the surge needle, and you will be required to kill him to complete the quest. After defeating him, you will need to stand in the exact location and use the Ley Line Attunement Crystal, which is given to you as a quest item. You will be attuned to the Ley Lines of Northrend after using the item which will complete the quest. Return to NPC, and you have taken the quest to turn it in.

Warlock Summon

Although the Mage portal might prove to be more convenient, you can also be summoned to Dalaran with one of the Warlock's main abilities; Ritual of Summoning, unlocked at level 42. This ability is very useful for any party due to Its utility, and instantaneously traveling to locations becomes ease; however, your Warlock is required to have access to those certain locations, and they need to be present at the site for you to be summoned at the exact location you want to be summoned at. The Warlock would need to be level 74 to summon you to Dalaran, as there would be no access otherwise. Summoning to Dalaran at a lower level is entirely possible, but this ultimately would require the Warlock to have been summoned by an additional Warlock who is already present in Dalaran or an additional Mage with a Dalaran portal, either way, depending on your approach, someone MUST be level 74 whether it be you or the player whom you're externally taking help from.

Conclusion

These are comprehensive all the possible ways known by which you can get to Dalaran. Hope you've gained all you need from this Article to be able to accomplish this task. Whatever reason you're there for, you'll fit in, as this guide is good for both the Alliance and Horde players. Enjoy your stay in the Magical City.
