Some of the best boss weapons in Elden Ring are true works of art, featuring intricate designs and deadly capabilities that can help you conquer even the toughest enemies in Elden Ring. From massive hammers to aesthetic Greatswords, each weapon offers a distinct playstyle and unique moveset that can enhance your combat skills and give you an edge in battle.

So, whether you're a seasoned warrior or a newcomer to the game, join us as we take a closer look at some of the most impressive boss weapons in Elden Ring, reveal their location and the changes after the 1.09 Patch, and show the easiest way on how to get them. So, here is a list in no particular order.

Maliketh's Black Blade

Maliketh's Black Blade is a force to be reckoned with in Elden Ring. As a colossal sword, it boasts incredible range and staggering power that make it a great choice for players looking to deal heavy damage. What's more, recent updates have made significant improvements to the sword's moveset, allowing for faster and more fluid attacks that feel great to execute.

One of the key strengths of this weapon is its powerful weapon skill, known as Destined Death. This skill inflicts a 10 Health reduction debuff on enemies, dealing damage and hit over time.

These features make Maliketh's Black Blade a great weapon for both PvE and PvP, allowing players to dominate in both situations. Although the Crouch poke has been nerfed, it's still a viable attack and very threatening as a roll-catch in PvP. All in all, Maliketh's Black Blade is still a great choice.

How to Get Maliketh's Black Blade

Maliketh's Black Blade is a weapon that can be obtained in the Crumbling Farum Azula by defeating its namesake, Maliketh the Black Blade. The Crumbling Farum Azula is a vast and treacherous area full of dangers and traps, but the rewards are worth the risks.

Once you've defeated Maliketh, you'll receive the Remembrance of the Black Blade. This item can be exchanged with Enia in the Roundtable Hold for Maliketh's Black Blade, a weapon that will serve you well in both PvE and PvP.

However, defeating Maliketh can be tricky. He is a skilled and formidable opponent who will test your abilities as a player. Make sure you're well-prepared with the right equipment, stats, and strategies before attempting to take him on. The easiest way to prepare yourself is if you buy Elden Ring runes to improve your character's abilities. It's also the fastest way.

Blasphemous Blade

The Blasphemous Blade is widely regarded as the best weapon in the game, and with the latest patch, it has only gotten better. As a Greatsword, it already had an impressive moveset, but with improved speed, range, and recovery time, it has become even deadlier. What makes this weapon stand out is its combination of fire and physical damage, which is unique in the game.

Additionally, its Ash of War is among the most potent in the game, boasting long-range and wide coverage. In PvP, it can knock over opponents and deal massive damage, while in PvE, it can hit multiple targets with ease.

Overall, it's an overpacked weapon that keeps getting better, making it the best boss weapon by far. However, such a great weapon requires a great inventory, and that's where the right equipment comes into play. To truly unleash the full potential of the Blasphemous Blade, players can purchase certain Elden Ring items that will complement their playstyle and enhance the weapon's abilities.

How to Get Blasphemous Blade

To obtain the Blasphemous Blade, players must defeat the Shardbearer, Rykard, in Mt. Gelmir. One way to reach him is by going through the Volcano Manor, which can be accessed via Mt. Gelmir or with Rya's help from the Altus Plateau. To face Rykard, players must join the Volcano Manor, although completing the Manor's questline is not necessary.

You can enter the zone's Legacy Dungeon through an illusionary wall in the first room on the right down the right hallway, and go through the entire zone to find Rykard at the end. Alternatively, you can skip the dungeon by completing Volcano Manor's questline, which will teleport you outside Rykard's boss room in that case. After defeating him, players will receive the Great Rune, and the Remembrance of the Blasphemous, which you can trade for the Blasphemous Blade with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold.

Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear

When it comes to boss weapons in Elden Ring, there are plenty of powerful options to choose from. However, one weapon that stands out is Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear. While it may have been nerfed in recent patches, it still packs a punch with its great range, high damage, and bleed potential.

However, as a thrusting weapon, its power has been reduced, especially in PvP and counter-attacks, which is a big part of the damage output for weapons like this.

Additionally, the hitbox size for some of the attacks for the great Spear has been decreased, and as we know the bleed builds have been nerfed as well. Despite all these changes, Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear still deserves a spot on this list due to its overall strength and versatility. It may not be as powerful as it once was, but it's still a force to be reckoned with in the hands of a skilled player.

How to Get Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear

Acquiring Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear in Elden Ring requires players to undertake a challenging journey. This weapon is located in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, which can only be reached after progressing a fair way into the game. To get there, players can either follow Varre's questline to obtain the Pureblood Knight's Medal or use the teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield.

Once players reach the Mausoleum, they will have to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood, who is a formidable opponent with two phases to his battle. It's crucial to learn his attack patterns to avoid his attacks and having a ranged attack option can help in dealing with him. Upon defeating Mohg, players will receive the Remembrance of the Blood Lord, which can be traded for the Sacred Spear through Enia. It's not an easy task, but the reward of obtaining the Sacred Spear is well worth the effort.

Morgott's Cursed Sword

Morgott's Cursed Sword has received a significant buff in patch 1.09, making it a much better weapon overall. It is due to two main aspects of the buff. Firstly, the Cursed-Blood slice now has an increased projectile generation speed and recovery time, which is a major improvement.

It's simply harder to avoid the attack, even if the opponent rolls the physical attack. Additionally, the speed, range, and recovery time of the curved Greatsword attacks has also been buffed in the latest patch, making Mrgott's Cursed Sword even deadlier.

Maybe the only downside for this weapon is, that it's technically a bleed weapon, so it has been reduced in power in bleed builds, although the mechanical improvements of this weapon cannot be overstated. It's definitely worth giving a try if you haven't already.

Where to Get Morgott's Cursed Sword

If you're on the hunt for Morgott's Cursed Sword, you'll need to make it through Lyndell first. After completing this section (but before burning away the Erdtree), you'll face off against Morgott himself.

Once you've defeated Morgott, you'll receive the Remembrance of the Omen King, which can be used to purchase the sword from Finger Reader Enia at Roundtable Hold.

Axe of Godfrey

Axe of Godfrey has undergone significant changes since its initial release, making it a much more viable weapon now. Previously considered disappointing, it has received significant buffs that make it a formidable choice for players. Its skill Regal Roar, when combined with certain abilities and talismans, can deal massive amounts of damage - upwards of 1,000 damage per hit. After activating Regal Roar, players can unlock a new moveset with heavy attacks that can quickly take down enemies.

The starting combo of a smaller slam-down AoE followed by an uppercut swipe is particularly effective and can be repeated for incredible DPS in boss fights. Additionally, the weapon's poise ability and raw damage have been significantly improved, making it a great choice for both PvE and PvP play. While relying solely on one attack may not be the most interesting way to play, the Axe of Godfrey's power is undeniable and it has earned a place among the top boss weapons in the game.

How to Get the Axe of Godfrey

In order to obtain the powerful Axe of Godfrey in Elden Ring, players must first defeat the fierce boss Godfrey, First Elden Lord. Once Godfrey has been defeated, players will get the Remembrance of Hoarah Loux. This remembrance can then be traded with Enia at Roundtable Hold for the Axe of Godfrey.
