The Elder Scrolls Online offers players a variety of daily login rewards, ranging from consumables to crafting materials, and even rare collectibles. While these rewards are free, they can quickly clutter your inventory if you're unsure which items are worth keeping. This video guide will break down the daily login rewards system and help you decide what to use, save, sell, or discard.

Understanding the Daily Login System

The daily login reward system in ESO can be overwhelming for new or returning players. Some of the most valuable rewards might seem inconspicuous, while others are nearly worthless. The system resets monthly, so you don't need to log in on specific days to claim specific rewards. If you miss a couple of days, you'll only lose out on the last few rewards of the month. Typically, the most notable rewards are available in the first three weeks, making it easier to access good items without needing to log in daily. However, the last week often has some valuable rewards, so it's worth trying to claim them all.

Experience Scrolls

One consistent reward you can obtain from the daily login reward system is the Crown Experience scrolls. These scrolls are beneficial for new, returning, and veteran players alike, as they boost XP gain, helping you level up faster and gain Champion Points. The increased XP also applies to Companions and skills that level via XP. Typically, you'll only receive a few of these scrolls each month, but if you're not careful, they can accumulate quickly. It is recommended to save the higher-value scrolls, like the 150%, for new character leveling or Champion Points grinding. However, don't hesitate to use the 50% scrolls whenever needed.

Crown Consumables

The system also grants Crown consumables, such as refreshing drinks, fortifying meals, and various Crown potions. The Crown Fortifying Meals (chickens), in particular, are excellent food items that can be used at any level, making them incredibly versatile. They provide a solid buff that enhances all three main stats, which is beneficial for nearly every class and role. While there are certainly better food options for endgame content, the Crown chickens are a reliable choice for almost any character. There's no need to hoard these, as even if you use them as your primary food, you'll likely accumulate a large stockpile over time.

On the flip side, I consider the Crown Refreshing Drinks to be worthless and tend to delete them immediately. Recovery isn't a significant stat in ESO in 2025, and I would never choose these drinks over food that boosts raw stat pools, like the Crown chickens. Therefore, I quickly discard those refreshing drinks.

When it comes to potions, the Crown Tri-Restoration Potions are a standout item. They're a staple in most players' inventories and serve as a great all-around potion for various builds.

In contrast, the Gold Coast potions are more situational. The only one I recommend holding onto is the Swift Survivor Elixir, which can be a lifesaver in tough battles, helping you escape from enemies. The Gold Coast Spellcaster Elixirs and Gold Coast Warrior Elixirs are designed to boost DPS, but most players will likely have alternative sources for the major buffs they provide, making them somewhat redundant at endgame. Fortunately, there's no need to be frugal with these potions, as you'll receive a monthly influx from the daily reward system to replenish your stockpile. Personally, I keep the Crown Tri-Restoration Potions and discard the rest.

Crown Poisons

Crown poisons are rarely used outside of Cyrodiil, and I prefer weapon enchants instead. So, I only keep one stack of Crown Lethal poison in my bank for when an Endeavor requires it; otherwise, I discard all the poisons. If you're a dedicated poison user or plan to spend a lot of time in Cyrodiil, these may be worth saving, but for most players, they're not particularly useful.

Soul Gems and Repair Kits

The Crown Soul Gems function similarly to the regular Soul Gems you collect throughout Tamriel, which makes them less valuable. However, it's still a good idea to carry them and use them instead of the regular Soul Gems, allowing you to sell those for gold.

On the other hand, the Crown Repair Kits are incredibly useful. They can repair all of your damaged equipment at once, saving you both gold and time. I recommend keeping a small stack of these on all your max-level characters, as you'll get the most value from them there. It's best to save them until you're equipped with max-level gear, but feel free to use them whenever you need repairs.

Riding Lessons

Another item that occasionally appears is the Crown Lessons. If you have a brand new account, you'll want to use these right away. Mount training in ESO can be quite tedious, so shortening that timeline is a significant advantage.

Even if you've already maxed out your riding skills on your current character, it's still worth saving these lessons. I recommend setting aside three slots in your bank for them. There's nothing more frustrating in ESO than deciding to create a new character and then having to visit the stable master every day for months to level up those riding skills. Having a good stock of these lessons from day one makes starting a new character much more enjoyable.

Research Scrolls

Research Scrolls include instant Blacksmithing, Clothing, Woodworking, and Instant All Research. These scrolls are used to reduce the research timer for any traits you are researching through crafting, making them incredibly useful when you're just starting out.

Initially, researching your first traits goes quickly, so these scrolls may not be immediately beneficial. However, as you research more traits, the time required for each subsequent research increases. This means that you might find yourself in a rush to unlock a trait for crafting useful items in the future. Having a stock of these scrolls allows you to unlock new traits instantly. I recommend saving them for when you absolutely need to finish researching a trait right away—you'll be glad you did!

Respecification Scrolls

Skill Respecification Scrolls allow you to respec your character's attributes and skills. While they're handy to have, they aren't particularly valuable at first since the respec costs are quite low initially. However, these costs do escalate over time.

For instance, it currently costs about 10K to respec my skills on this character, so these scrolls can save me a decent amount of gold. I always make sure to save them for later, but when I finally decide to respec, I often forget that I have them. That's why I have a large stack in my inventory!

Gold, Alliance Points, and Tel Var

Let's move on to some of the more exciting rewards, like gold! It's pretty straightforward—gold is useful in ESO, and no one will complain about receiving some free money.

About once a year, we see a month with a much larger daily login reward of around 100K, which is a nice windfall even for veteran players.

Additionally, both Alliance Points and Telvar are extremely useful. Just make sure to claim them on the right character, especially the Alliance Points. Any Alliance Points earned from fighting in Cyrodiil, the Battlegrounds, or through the daily login calendar will help level up your Alliance War skills. If you have a new character without the Assault or Support skill lines unlocked, claiming these points is a great way to start leveling those skills.

Both Alliance Points and Telvar are also currencies that can be used to purchase PvP equipment. If you're not interested in buying gear for yourself, you can use these currencies to buy items to resell to other players for gold. For example, the 5K Telvar you earn is enough to purchase a Hakeijo Rune, which is currently worth about 18K gold on the ESO PC-NA server. While 5K AP may not seem like much, if you save up and spend 25K, you can buy a Dawn-Prism, which is valued at around 8K gold on the PC-NA server right now.

Of course, keep in mind that depending on the current market and meta, there are often items that could be more lucrative than these two. However, the Hakeijo Runes and Dawn Prisms are safe bets that are consistently in demand.

Crafting Materials

Crafting materials, like Tempering Alloy, Rosin, Dreugh Wax, and Luminous Ink, are currently in high demand and quite valuable on the market, especially the Drag Wax on PC-NA, which sells for about 15K gold each. This means you could potentially earn around 60K if you sell them to other players.

The Tempering Alloy is valued at about 5K each, the Rosin at around 1K each, and the Luminous Ink is currently worth about 650 gold each. The first three materials are used to upgrade your gear to Gold quality, while the Luminous Ink is needed for new skills scribing in Gold Road.

Furnishings

Sometimes, you may see some common furnishings in the daily rewards. These common rewards are not worth keeping as they are easy to get. For example, some furnishings can be bought with gold from the Home Goods vendor, and some are common drops from treasure chests in base game zones. If you're a housing enthusiast and want to decorate with them, that's great; otherwise, they probably aren't worth saving.

On the other hand, some rare furnishing items can be potentially very valuable. For example, the Monarch Butterfly Flock is an item that was previously exclusive to the Crown Store. Its price is likely to increase significantly over time since there won't be a way to replenish the supply.

If you care more about gold than home furnishings, I recommend holding onto those rare furnishing items for a couple of months before selling them. You can always use them to decorate your home in the meantime, as furnishings remain unbound even after being placed in ESO.

If you see furnishings in the login rewards, I strongly recommend researching their acquisition methods before discarding or selling them. There's nothing to suggest that these butterflies are significantly more valuable than the sunflower clusters.

Crown Mimic Stones (Rare Rewards)

Crown Mimic Stones make a regular appearance as daily rewards and can be used in place of style materials. This is particularly handy if you want to craft a piece of gear that requires a specific style material that you're out of. After crafting the gear with the Mimic Stones, you can deconstruct it for a chance to recover the actual style material that would have been needed. This means Crown Mimic Stones can effectively be converted into gold by selling the recovered style materials to other players.

Seals of Endeavor (Rare Rewards)

Seals of Endeavor is a daily reward you might look forward to. Seals are used to purchase items from Crown Crates, and it's wise to save them until there's something you really want from the rotating selection.

Other Rare Rewards

In the past, there were daily reward calendars that included cosmetic collectibles like adornments, costumes, pets, mounts, and even houses, as well as Crown Crates and Zone or Dungeon DLC Packs. These are some of the most exciting rewards to look out for, and I always make sure to log in enough to claim them when they do appear. A recent example is the Weald Arbor Headdress, along with the Sword-Singer's Redoubt house.

Conclusion

ESO's daily login rewards offer a mix of useful items and clutter. By prioritizing high-value consumables like Crown Experience Scrolls and Tri-Restoration Potions while discarding less impactful items like Refreshing Drinks or excess poisons, you can keep your inventory organized and maximize your gains. Rare furnishings, crafting materials, and currencies like Tel Var Stones and Alliance Points provide excellent opportunities for profit or progression—use them wisely to enhance your gameplay experience.
