Eight new Mounts are added in patch 6.1 in Final Fantasy XIV, and who doesn't like Mounts! So, let's see what they look like and how to get them.
How to Get the Alkonost Mount in FFXIV
To get the Alkonost Mount, players can use three Resplendent Feathers to exchange with Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han at X:10.6 Y:10.0 or buy the Mount from the Market Board with Final Fantasy XIV Gil.
There are two ways to get Resplendent Feathers, one is by using FFXIV Gil to buy them off the market board, but they cost quite a bit of FF14 Gil. If you have enough Gil in FFXIV, then this Mount is very simple for you to get.
The other way is through grinding. If you have Lv. 90 Gatherers, you can get the Timeworn Kumbhiraskin Map through gathering. If not, you can buy them off the Market Board, and these maps are not that expensive. Then join a map farming group in the Party Finder to grind for the Feathers.
How to Get the Pod Mount in FFXIV
Getting the Pod Mount is quite simple. Players can exchange it with the NPC Gold Saucer Attendant in Gold Saucer and use 300k MGP to exchange for the Pod 602 Identification Key. If you don't have that much MGP, you can buy an FFXIV Power Leveling service at MmoGah. One million MGP only costs less than 10 USD.
The Pod Mount is only purchasable after completing the 24-player Alliance Nier Raid.
The PvP Related Mounts in FFXIV
There are three free Mounts related to the PvP system. They are not newly added, but the event went away, and now it's back.
Players first have to use Wolf Marks to exchange for armor and weapon from Disreputable Priest at Wolves' Den Pier X:5 Y:5.3, a set of Lv. 60 gear, no need to exchange for the Accessories and weapons of new jobs. Talk to the NPC again after equipping the whole set, click Receive a new title, and equip the title to run PvP.
Each of the three achievements in the picture below will give you a Mount.
Fame Fatale will give you the Goten Pipe, which requires 30 wins in Feast or Crystalline Conflict matches.
Frontline Fury will give you the Ginga Pipe, which requires 10 wins in Frontline or Rival Wings. Currently, only Frontline is available.
Furious Fatalities will give you Raigo Pipe, which requires 60 wins in Frontline/Rival Wings or Feast/Crystalline Conflict. It doesn't matter which ones you win, and it will all total up to this.
Getting these three Mounts requires some grinding, but it's quite an easy grind if you intend to play some PvP or run some Daily Frontline Challenges through the roulette.
There is a guide for Crystalline Conflict if you haven't played it yet.
How to Get the Troll Mount in FFXIV
There are two quests players have to do first before getting the Troll Mount, Keeping Up with the Aliapohs and Fantastic Mr. Faux, and the location of both quests is in Idyllshire at X:7.0 Y:5.9. After completing the two quests, players can go to X:5.7 Y:6.1 to find Khloe Aliapoh and Faux Commander for the Mount.
There are two ways to get the Troll Mount. One is by playing Faux Hollows, which requires players to do the weekly Unreal Trial, and currently, it's Ultima's Bane (Unreal). Every week players will be allowed to play Faux Hollows to earn Faux Leaf, and you need 600 Faux Leaves to exchange for the Troll Horn.
The other way to get the Troll Mount is through Wonderous Tails. If you get three lines in your Wonderous Tails, you can get Khloe's Gold Certificate of Commendation to exchange for the Troll Horn with Khloe Aliapoh. You have to be very lucky to get it, but it is a way to get the Troll Mount.
How to Get the Bluefeather Lynx Mount in FFXIV
Players can acquire this final Mount from farming the Extreme Trials, but you need the luck to get this Mount because there is a chance for the Mount to drop, and when it drops, you also have to roll against other party members.
How to Get the Vinegaroon Mount in FFXIV
Players can exchange the Vinegaroon Mount with Wilmetta in Radz-at-Han at X:10.5 Y:7.4 and J'lakshai in Old Sharlayan at X:11.8 Y:13.2 for 3200 Sack of Nuts. Players can earn Sack of Nuts by participating in The Hunt and killing Elite Marks.
These are all the Mounts added in patch 6.1 in Final Fantasy XIV. Thank you for reading, and good luck on the new Mounts.
